So after a couple months break and skipping a pre order for the first time in years, I have returned and found I quite like the Titans of the set! Every one of them seems useful and powerful and they are a lot of fun to use. Favorite is probably the druid one just for the fact I can reno jackson back my life lol. You guys liking them?
I love the Titans themselves. The meta is a bit crazy, but I’m not hating it like I have other metas. It seems more diverse and you can play a lot of variety.
Games are decided before turn 9 so most titans don’t see play.
It’s the meta of turn 7 kill
I am only in gold atm so still in the scrub ranks. I’ll have to take your word on higher level play, I rarely break platinum lol.
I’ve quite liked the Titans too. The one slight edge case is Sargeras, but even there, that’s only been one or two individual games where I couldn’t kill him after the first turn or where the constant spawn of taunt imps (and bigger things from his summon 6/6 demons ability if played as the second option) just ran away with things.
Overall, they’ve been quite fun.
Plus, they’ve been a major factor in finding out how amazing Reverberations is. I won one game against a Blood DK who Theotar-ed Norgannon out of my hand and then stupidly played him when I had two Reverberations in my hand. And another where a control Priest used Identity Theft to copy him out of my deck, only for me to copy him twice with Reverberations and then ping the Priest’s copy. Two activations of Norgannon’s second ability with the Mage Secrets option gave me both Objection and Counterspell, which shut down the Priest’s ability to do anything the next turn and let me hit them twice for 20 to the face. It was beautiful.
I like the Titans and i think they are nice to have in game. I would have wished for them to work a little different but it is what it is. The only one that i find bad is Sif. Just another in a long line of Mage minions that create spell to face OTK. You would think they could up with a better play pattern for Mage?
Sadly, no. I am glad you’re enjoying yourself, froggy.
I was pretty excited for the set and the first few days were really cool but I stopped playing for the month until balance changes happen. There are just way too many broken things that can kill you, Standard doesn’t have enough neutral options like MTG does to really stop certain strategies from just autowinning via matchup, and it feels extremely scammy. Didn’t have answers for 5 turns in a row against mech rogue/ paladin or hunter? You lose. You are a control deck playing against shaman? You lose. You didn’t draw Dirty Rat/ didn’t hit Sif playing as a control/ midrange deck? You lose.
There just aren’t enough answers for how diverse and powerful the current meta is, the ones that exist are SUPER behind on mana cost or just don’t target cards well enough, and certain matchups are actually unwinnable while others are lost depending on what your opening hand is. It’s starting to feel more and more like YGO was 3-4 years ago where games were decided on a coin flip. Was a win away from legend and just decided hitting legend this month isn’t worth ripping my hair out. I’ll get it after the nerfs happen and hopefully I’m not forced to grind with decks I don’t enjoy because that’s kind of how hitting high ranks feels right now.
Sargeras’ portal should close if the titan card is destroyed. This would fit with the other titans. They can then lower its cost to 7 in line with other titan cards.
Same. I have been using all of the dust I’ve saved over the years. I haven’t spent a dime in many months now. I finally dusted my duplicates for about 30,000 more dust, leaving me with around 100,000 in the end, thankfully.
I too like the titans. I am not on board with the many players here that believe they’ve ruined the game, or what have you. They’re fun!
Good to see you Hazama; I hope you’re doing well, my friend.
Titans are nice. Some of them more than others. Would love if you actually get to play them though and not be dead to nature shaman turn 6 all the damn time.
I like them, sargaras is a bit much tho.
Not sure if paladin, DH, DK got one tho, never seen them played.
rest of the exp can yeet right to hell tho.
I first thought Titans was boring and doesn’t have a lot of strong cards, so I skipped buying packs for the first time in years. I didn’t touch standard ranked for the first two weeks.
Now I still don’t want to buy Titan packs, but I gave it a try, and, hmm…, it’s fun if you don’t play too much. It is not balanced yet, but I can have fun with my Tyrande and Valeera (I got Titans for these two classes from a few packs and rewards) and get killed by OTK, combos, curses, or whatever… It’s fun when you get a variety of ways to be defeated.
When the frog is pleased, we are all pleased.
I love the lore of the titans and the design
I like the forge mechanic alot i hope it becomes evergreen.
I do feel the powerlevel in standard should be lowered somewhat across the board for multple expansions but thats just me.
Lastly id like the meta to be a little less polarized i dont mind bad matchups but i do believe decks that are being played with more skil by some players should be able to beat other decks even if it s bad matchup.
I want to see all the keyboard warriors suck it up and admit that Forge was not the worst mechanic ever created that they spewed before the set launched. It clearly shows that the majority player base is playing standard incorrectly. A two mana investment for a big payoff is ALWAYS worth it. These people and their OMG he floated a mana…OMG he didn’t spend it correctly…OMG he used a 2 cost hero power need to be silent.
If you didn’t think something as trivial as basically using a hero power to double the power of a card wasn’t a powerful effect. I am not sure you understand how this game works.
Okay i am leaving my podium. Yes, i hope this mechanic gets used more in the future because if you are going to have mana cheat in game THIS is the way you do it. You make the players front load not just give it for nothing.
Yes, this spell is great and and is very useful in many different situations.
It allowed me to get rid of the hound minion from the hunter so many times and also copy the enemy titan or my own titan.
Titans are good. They are very powerful but not utterly broken. Hard to say that about some other cards tho.
Most Titans do not cost 9 and the one that do it’s often played with 6 mana discount.
I am pleased the frog is pleased.
