How do you all feel about quest rogue? This is the deck i built, i went with blizzard deck recipe so it’s porbably not the optimal version but i’;ve been having a lot of success with it so far. I dont normally play hearthstone, more of a shadowverse player but i decided try some of hte current expansion out after watching trump play a bit since the quests looked a bit fun. hit gold today with about an 80% winrate, i do expect that winrate to go down when i climb more though.
There’s no deck listed.
I think quest rogue can do well. I recommend against pushing for quest completion at all costs. Play a tempo game. It’ll happen organically.
I’d try it out with and without the 4-mana one who gets bigger. It’s good for pushing quest but doesn’t have much effect on the current game state. You kinda want to be pushing threats and it’s not a card you really want to curve into. Even playing SI cards on 2 and 3 mean you’re only getting a 5/5 out of it. That’s fairly easy for a bunch of decks to deal with.
the 4 drop is actually quite decent imo.
you dont want to curve into it ofc, but its extremely easy to have something like t5-6 4 mana 7/7
i’d argue that against a lot of the meta decks you actually want to aggresively push for early board, and that naturally means early quest completion. There are even decks where your best chance is completing as fast as possible, even if that means shadowstepping the 2/2.
there are even very competitive lists that run even the 4 mana 5/4 due to how important getting SIs down is.
It is the deck i used to climb to legend, although i didnt run the 5/4s, the 4 mana 3/3s won me quite a few games.
another vital card that i dont know if its in the deck recipe is Battlegroiunds battlemaster. You need 2 of those to setup your lethal.
Quest Rogue is one of the easiest ways to abuse Battlegrounds Battlemaster due to the 1 mana stealth gizmo. Plus Scabbs and the 4-drop SI:7 can create some big idiots on board for huge burst damage.
I’ve seen more lists running the 5/4 simply to negate Ice Barrier due to the popularity of Spell Quest Mage.
Surprisingly I’ve only run into rogues as a shadowpriest which has very good tools to deal with stealth minions so it wasn’t much of an issue taking it down. But playing as rogue, you could get some really sick buffed stealth minions given windfury that just explodes the opponent. Scary stuff.
I still can’t decide how i personaly feel about it as most of my matches as rogue have been a coinflip if my opponent drew board clear or not.
Quest rogue is fair, as long exists quests insanely OP, totally out of balance, broken Tier S like warlock and mage never will be a competitive quest rogue list.
The problem is not your list, it is the meta.
Quest Rogue is not really a meta tyrant, but it’s flavour alone is half the fun, I think.
Rogue player JAlexander thinks the same:

I think Quest Rogue is incredibly solid, a lot of fun, and does well against current meta decks. It’s like Tempo Rogue from KotFT except less high-rolly.
Dunno what else you can say about it.
It’s very fun to play, but it does not have a good match-up spread if you are trying to make the D5-legend climb because it gets destroyed by face hunter (35% WR) and quest mage (40% WR) and does not so well against aggro elemental shaman (43% WR). At legend, where the meta is more diversified, it looks to be doing much better. Its best match-up is hanfbuff pally because of the sap SI treasure so if your pocket meta is a ton of handbuff pally, it should be fun to ruin their day because you are one of its only two bad matchups.
