This meta is being stifled by Quest Mage/Warlock

You can’t counter Paladin/Rogue while these Quest decks remain in their current state.

Incanter’s flow continues to be an issue and Warlock abusing fatigue damage is also quite stupid.

The Quest deck’s themselves may not be performing too well but it’s about how they twist the meta and prevent an entire archetype (Control) from being playable.

Sure lets pretent they didnt nerf the only control viable deck prior to this expansion release lol, it was the evil quests its not like they have been nerfing the archtype non stop before it and giving it no viable tools…

Control Warrior was actually pretty decent right before the expansion according to Vicious Syndicate’s data report.

The nerf really didn’t affect Priest that much in high ranks. People were starting to realize Priest was still pretty good post-nerf.

It’s actually entirely the Quests and ease of achieving infinite damage that is the problem actually, yes.

Again, it’s not just the Quest decks themselves… it’s how they twist the meta to favor Paladin/Rogue because they make an entire archetype unplayable.

I mean, as long as Mage has Ignite, and as long as Quest Warlock can guarnatee to ends games by turn 9-10 via Self-Fatigue, how will any kind of Control Deck ever survive? Especially Priest.

Sigh, I get so tired of Devs introducing a deck that deletes an entire archtype just by existing.

Tickatus Warlock was a bad deck but was also a bad experience for many players because they couldn’t play their preferred deck without auto losing to it.

This forums is full of hypocrites Control is my favorite archetype and the amount of hate it got right here in this forums this past 2 years is over the charts …

Now theres a bunch of white knights for Control defending it when only 1 expansion ago they were quick to stab it in the back.
Unreal.

The Quests added an element to the meta that would’ve stifled Priest anyway. Suddenly every class either had free value forever or quick lethal pressure akin to Combo.

Priest was already weak outside the very narrow meta at the top of Legend before the nerfs. And it looks to repeat; the meta quadrupled down on Aggro due to the presence of Quests and Priest can beat Aggro. So it continues to be miserable to play as Priest anywhere except top Legend, but at top Legend it can have success.

But yet hunter, shaman and pally are the most nasty and op in the game. But yes lets blame mage and lock.

Hunter and Shaman win by being the best aggro decks, Paladin wins by it’s strongest counters (Priest, Control Warrior) being unplayable due to Mage/Warlock. Actually same thing with Rogue as well.

Control is dead, how many times do people have to say this? Blizzard doesn’t want control to be good. They want easy mode, no skill face decks to be a thing. Because that’s what attracts more players clearly.

Everyone knows Control is Dead, but I’m just pointing out the direct side of effects of that;
buffed based decks like Paladin get to run wild, raw Aggro eats up like 90% of all Mid-Range and Combo based decks, and high burst damage decks (ie, Rogue) get to slip in as well.

I pretty much explained why that is.

Because Quest mage/warlock are protecting them from being countered.

With control not existing, of course aggro/mid-range is going to be god-tier.

This is the entire point of my post…

The meta can’t be balanced right now.

I would rather play against quest mage/lock every game than one game vs priest again. People will complain no matter what happens. Priest was the most annoying abomination. Most people hated playing against priest. But now you guys want to play against priest??

No, it’s more like these are the direct consequences of what happens when you kill Priest. Don’t complain about Shaman, Hunter and Paladin coming up strong when the biggest counter to most of them is dead in the ground.

are you sure ? i thought it was handbuff paladin and face hunter (most of the hunter decks ive seen arent running the quest )

Like I said I would rather lose to a face deck by turn 5. Playing vs priest takes forever and even winning feels bad. No thanks.

I’d rather play 10 priests than 1 no minion mage. No minion as an archetype shouldn’t even exist imo. Priest was a little too good, but it does hearthstone things like play minions

No one likes priest anyway.

Even during the supposed “priest reign” it only really happened in high ranks exactly because people on lower ones insisted in play bad decks only because they’re hard counter to it.

I sorry to tell but people actually like playing their jank stuff that usually counters priest despite of how bad they are.

In that sense to make priest “viable” you need to give a decent amount of unfair nerfs directed on forcing people to stop to play what they have fun with even if they weren’t overpowered in first place.

If this feels any right to you then i not even know what to say.

I’m just saying, don’t complain too hard when the consequences of Priest being bad show up in the form of Handbuff Paladin and Elemental Shaman being as strong as they are, especially if you are happy about Priest being like this.

Quest Warlock was a Day 1 winner, but it’s pretty much fallen off a ledge as the meta has sped up. The amount of pure cheese damage plus self harm makes it likely you die before you pop off.
