Hello Devs, I hope you read this. I am a relatively new player and hopefully this message gets through to you as I am only trying to help you get new players.
My experience playing Hearthstone has never been fun, or wholesome, it has always resulted in me leaving again shortly after re-installing because your community uses the built-in emotes in the most rude, nasty and sarcastic ways possible. Most experienced players are asshats bereft of empathy, who do things like emote “That’s Incredible” after I make a move that would not merit a genuine response like that.
The players make the game very toxic with the intentional sarcastic use of the emotes and I always come away from it feeling angry and upset. I will be leaving the game again because of this. I know there will probably be a bunch of trolls that will reply to this thread with cruel intent. To those people I say that your natural arrival at unwarranted cruelty says more about the character of your upbringing and your innermost selves than it does me. It speaks to the ugliness of your souls, that will always only cost your community and yourselves in the end.
I will never understand the nagging need so many people who play this game have to be nasty instead of trying to make friends. It boggles my mind. What is the tangible reward for spreading upset and anger? The knowledge you won a casual match of Hearthstone against someone with far less experience and cards than you?
TL;DR Devs, please remove the emotes or give an option to permanently squelch them. They serve no purpose other than to upset other people, you are the parents and it is long past time to take the toys that make the noise away from the babies who don’t know any better. Don’t e-mail me about this game in the future until you do. I have no interest in having a silly video game upset me.
