This Expansion Wasn't Worth It

I’m more disappointed that I spent $80 on the pre-purchase deal they had for this expansion. The imbue cards just suck. Like it was a good idea but to nerf the Starcraft cards and the excuse being so the Starcraft cards wouldn’t be too strong compared to the new cards, I think ruined the game. The Starcraft cards were making this game more fun compared to these new cards. Like the fact that a good Death Knight deck right now is a menagerie deck is beyond boring…

Blizzard, you’re telling me that out of all the cool cards, you can’t make the cool cards viable in today’s comp? I think that you guys messed up with the Starcraft nerfs and these Imbue cards. The only good Imbue deck i’ve seen is the Druid deck and that deck is dumb. I’m only playing this game because of fomo. Realistically, this expansion is bad.

It’s like Blizzard, you guys make one good expansion, and then everyone has to deal with the next one being bad and forcing ourselves to play something because of fomo. I’m just going to level up my tavern pass to 100 and after that i’ll just hope the mini set is good since that’s the only time you guys actually decide to make changes for the “better” but better wasn’t nerfing the Starcraft cards to make the new epansion enjoyable when it’s not. You guys dropped the ball on this one and i’m more sad that I wasted actual money for this expansion.

Obviously, Blizzard won’t read this or even care since the developers are so stuck up on their high horse that my opinion isn’t valued. It’s just nice to know the community doesn’t like this expansion. It’s kinda plain in my opinion and Battlegrounds isn’t fun either. That’s another story but cheers.

Which videogame are you playing? There are like 3 different control DK decks running around.

It’s the opposite for me. I’m having fun right now. The meta is ALOT better than the one during the miniset.

I meet all classes and with different archetypes. Zarimi is strong right now but overall I can go into matchups and have the feeling I can win if I play carefully.

Buyers remorse can be avoided by not wasting money on frivolous things.

You don’t have to spend money to play the game. Spending money just ensures you have a higher % of the cards available. I haven’t spent a dime on HS since the first year and never felt really compelled to. Sure, I may not have all the legendaries, but many of them are for decks that I wouldn’t enjoy playing anyways or that make me feel icky because how dirty or busted they are lol.

I think it’s only fair that after a good expansion comes a bad one, as everyting in this life goes in cycles.

To begin with, after playing a meta you consider great for your taste, then the other meta, being dissimilar with the previous one, has much higher chances to be a worse one. It’s about the contrast.

Hence, do not fall prey to basic instincts. They are wrong and mean you no good in the long term. If you can’t handle playing a boring expansion (or just the one whose taste doesn’t align with yours), then just play every other expansion and you’ll see that nothing is gonna change, because after a best expansion, any other following can only be worse.

That’s easily discernible from the subjectivity of tastes.

If we’re gonna analyze the situation objectively, we won’t end up anywhere, because:

a) as it stands, there is no meta yet
b) if you can call this meta at all, it’s the most diverse and therefore most balanced meta ever. Yes, it’s still the “worst meta ever” according to some, but according to others, it’s the best one ever, which brings us back to the subjectivity of tastes.

The Starcraft expansion accomplished exactly what it was designed for. It brought in new players by making a set so insanely OP that you couldn’t help but buy and play it. The problem is that the long time players knew it wouldn’t last. The nerfs were going to come at some point guaranteed. To be honest i thought there would be more.
