Things that are making it tough for me

… to stick with this game:

I think I like the game itself, but all of these “minor” QoL things are killing the it for me. This game is so old and these gripes are so basic that I can’t imagine any of them will be fixed because there have probably been thousands of the same complaints before, but I gotta get it out there…

  • Voice Sounds effects, dialogue during the game (mostly solo/story mode), etc:
… I’m trying to play Story mode (not counting Practice Mode) to unlock stuff and get familiar the game/cards but I rage-quit within 10min every time because of the undisablable/unskippable spoken/popup dialogue. This needs to be optional or at least only do it the first time.
… Also, in normal Play Mode you can squelch the other player, but you still get all the “Hmmm…” and “I wonder…” after a few seconds. I assume this was added to wake up AFK people, but it also distracts easily distracted people like me and just makes me take even longer. Squelch should turn this off or it should be optional.
… Basically I hate voice sound effects and they should be optional. Playing the whole game muted doesn’t really help because you still get the popups. And when it’s muted it just feels like something is missing (because it is).
… The card’s (minion’s) voice on-play sounds. Hearing these EVERYTIME you playing the card gets old very fast. Again, these should be optional (like “Always/Often/Seldom/Never”).

  • Why no “Random Opponent” in Practice Mode?

  • Why no hotkeys for End Turn, and confirmations/declines etc?

  • I’m still new to the deck editor, but it seems really lacking in showing you your deck stats. Like it shows your mana curve, but no counts of spells/minions/etc.

EDIT: “Job Done” has been a favorite sound effect for me since like the mid-90s, until now…

These current solo adventures really stink. Truly awful. But you can get level 1 of nearly all the old ones from the Blizzard store - the ONLINE one, not the in game one. Also look under Wild (not Adventure for some damn reason) then click “Claim for Free”. Most of them give you some packs for completing the first level , then you can buy the later levels for gold, not real money. Some of them are really quite fun. They will also help you level your classes.

Agree on the sound, there may be a way to turn it off, but I don’t play hearthstone with my headset on, there is no point.

Use Hearthstone Deck Tracker for stats. I hate using third party addons, but feel like I was forced into it because there is no Auto-Squelch built into the game. It tracks stats for people who care about that.

Icecrown, and Dungeon Run: some of the best free Solo content ever for Hearthstone.
