It sucks for anyone who enjoys multiplayer that they’d have to choose to give up 4 packs in order to play the adventure. It really irked me last adventure and I see you’ve done the same thing this time too. It’s a choice of 7 packs or adventure and 3 packs after you beat it.
Now the simplest solution is just up the rewards to 7 packs, but I think there’s better options. What I would do is reward 2 packs for your first win per hero. So once all 4 heros are released you can get 8 packs per stage, which is a nice bonus. Or if you want to be stingy just do 1 per and the last hero gets a bonus of 4 so you get 7. Another option might be same rewards as now but also a random legendary. As long as in the end it’s not forcing me to shoot myself in my multiplayer foot to appease the singleplayer foot.

Why should you get content for free.
The “lost” 4 packs you are getting is the price of the adventure. If blizzard dosen’t make money on the adventures there is no reason for them to make them and just sell you packs alone no solo content.
They could sell you the content without any packs and it would still be fair so long as the price reflected that (4 packs = 4 dollars). 4 dollars for the adventure is not a unfair price is the least. I would say anything up to 10 bucks is a fair price for its entertainment value. As such anything up to and inc 10 packs lower than just buying the packs is fair.
To boot there giving you a gold pack as well so its not really 4 packs your losing but less as the gold pack is worth more dust. With a cardback ontop.
If you dont think a price of 4 dollars is worth the adventure (what you are paying compaired to just buying the packs). Don’t buy it obv the adventure is not for you if you don’t consider it worth such a low price.
To boot if your smart and buying with amazon coins and you should be there is a furth 10-30% discount that makes it even better than buying packs (assuming packs are bought at full price obv same price if using coins for both).
The adventure price for the current one is fair.
Previous adventures gave you cards only available from the adventures, and that was fine by me. They shouldn’t force people to forsake one part of the game. Adventures are also advertising, an opportunity to get and play with cards one may not have, thus encouraging you to buy packs to get them. It’s also more content to encourage new players. It’s not like they get nothing from adventures other than people buying them.

I used to be able to buy oil for 70c a L now I need to pay over a buck a L at min. So yes there less value than old adventures that gave you cards directly.
Inflation sucks get over it. The price is no where near bad it is quite reasonable. Using past examples for the current price is not a good way to go about it. What matters is what is fair and what people will pay.
The current price not only will be payed given the price has stuck but its quite fair to the point I would call low.
Asking for content for free is nothing more than being unreasonable.
advertising and so forth is a nice bonus yes but dosen’t change if the price is fair or not. Fact is the price is fair and people will pay it. If you dont think 4 bucks is reasonable for a few hours entertainment at min and lots more if you want it that’s on you don’t buy it. Speak with your wallet.

They aren’t. I wish people would stop insinuating that players are forced to do or not do certain game content.
They are. They are forcing me to either not play the adventure or to have less packs for my collection limiting the possible decks I can play in multiplayer.
Solo Adventures are not made for pack accrual. If you don’t give a toss about the story, then get 7 packs instead of playing the chapters.
They could at least give something more like a skin, or a quantity of dust or a random golden card, the repetitive nature of the adventure itself its really not worthy.
So you’re suggesting that I have to forsake the story aspect of the game to get the most out of the multiplayer aspect of the game?
I’m sure if you were that ‘desperate’ you would’ve paid for it already with either currency. Your hands aren’t tied, you’re able to buy it. I know I did.
I’m FTP and have a strict budget because I know myself and know if I allowed myself to spend money I’d spend way too much. For me it is a real choice, one or the other.
Then it seems like gold is your only answer. Up to you whether 4 measly packs of cards is really going to stop you from playing the adventure or not. That’s not Blizzards fault by the way, you’re the one that sets your own restrictions.
They give out packs for free all through the year and you would’ve been given more free packs from Legendary quests than the ones ‘lost’ due to the Adventure Chapter entry fee. This includes extra gold that can be used too that would theoretically account for the 4 ‘missing’ packs.
I’ve just given myself an idea. As of next year I’m going to track all the free packs of cards starting Jan 1 so the next time someone complains about missing 4 packs of cards, I’ll have the data to prove you get given more than you ‘lose’ (seriously, we earn gold every day to get any pack we like every second day).
You are trying to have the cake and eat it. Solo Adventure ain’t free. Wages need to be paid and server need to be maintained for you to play it. Why should it cost the same as packs only?

I’m not asking them to be. I’m asking them to break even compared to the value of packs. As I mentioned above it provides advertising and an opportunity for people to play cards they don’t have and incentivize them to buy packs to get those cards. And if Adventures aren’t supposed to be tied to packs at all then reduce the cost to 400 and take all rewards out.
It’s 12-16 depending on the adventure.
True, but how many packs do you get over the year with quests alone? Assuming you literally log in daily (not including 3 wins for 10g), that’s 182 free packs.
Every week is another pack with TB so add 52 to that total and that’s what you get normally without any special Legendary quests (gold or pack rewards).
234+ easily. Yeah you might miss 12 or 16, but you’re still getting 3 from each chapter. So Heist and Tombs? 15 and 15 is 30 and now it’s 264. If you’re going to be anal about the Adventure packs, I hope you guys are logging into Twitch, especially for the ones that are guaranteed after a set hour (usually 3 and 6 hrs of watching). If those packs aren’t worth your time, I fail to see why the Adventure ones are.
Pretty decent without spending a cent. To expect to get as much as a paying customer is a bit much. At the end it’s just consumers wanting more for less (or free even).
Basically…greed.
So you are okay with 400 golds no packs but not okay with 700 3 packs???

@null I’m fine with both prices. I do have a issue with not being able to buy the full adventure with gold at the reduced price of using money if buying all at once. But that’s a whole different thing and logical on why they set it up the way they did.
I would love to have a way to buy the adventure with all the pack rewards removed for gold at a reduced price. You lose 4 packs vs buying packs so 1 pack per wing. If I could buy the wings at 200 gold per wing I would as packs at this point are near worthless only worth a few dust as got all the cards I want. Would rather pay that much lower price or better 8 bucks the price converted to dollars if paying that way and save 7 bucks. Thou a discount for buying all at once if using dollars should still apply so 5.50 in that case still more than the 4 bucks with the package deal but still a fair price.
Expecting the adventure to be free or worse being like the op and expecting they PAY him to play the adventure is the vary definition of unreasonable. Currently he’s losing 4 packs vs buying packs with that adventure so he wants it bumped up to 8 packs a wing from 3. 20 packs more than now. So a gain of 16 packs vs buying. The same as asking to be payed 16 packs to play the content. Obv the content is not for him if he needs to be paid to play it.
@the op. Advertising is a bonus for blizzard not for the player. The price you pay being fair or not is based on if the amount of content you get. The content we get for 4 dollars (4 packs) is more than fair. You will be hard pressed to find other sources of entertainment that give you the same amount per dollar. Even looking at other games more dlcs go for more and give a lot less. Hell recently I bought one map in a game for 5 bucks that I was likly only going to play two or so time for 6-7 hours total that’s far less value that this adventure. The price was still fair thou as was worth the time I spent there for my enjoyment. If you don’t think it is don’t buy the adventures there not made for you. There made for those that think it’s worth paying for that entertainment. There is little value in making content for people that won’t pay. Advertising alone rarly pays the bills. It is more profitable to get a fair fee and advertise which is what is happening. You would ONLY have a leg to stand on here if you can show there price is not fair. You have not and won’t since a few dollars for hours of entertainment at the min is fair. With a ton of replayabilty.

People here really suck at math. With the one of my proposals which you are alluding to, where I suggest blizzard encourage playing all heros, you will get 8 packs for the 700 gold cost of the expansion, a total of 3 bonus packs over the course of all the paid adventures. Not 16, 3.
Expansion gold cost is not the only possible cost. the loss of 4 packs is the loss buying the whole adventure with money. cost 15 bucks for the adventure but you get 12 plus 1 gold packs. 13 packs. But 3 are free so omit those 9 plus 1 gold pack is worth at least two normal packs. That’s 11 packs so loss of 4 packs over the entire adventure not per wing. 1 lost pack per wing.
Your change of 3 to 8 packs per wing is a gain of 5 per wing as said a gain of 20 over the adventure basicly asking the to give you 16 packs to play. That is the vary def of unreasonable.
Gold price is inflated that we know since you don’t get the discount for buying all at once if that is your issue that is diff than the adventure being overcosted. That is you wanting the same discount people that pay money get so. Which is reasonable to ask for and many threads already have. Blizzards logic for not giving it makes sense but that’s another threads topic.
As such it is not 4 packs lost per wing its 4 packs lost total over the adventure as per your op.
As such it is you that is the one bad at math.
