There should be hidden MMR reset every month

As in the title I think that our hidden MMR should be reset every month not just our “ranks” which mean nothing tbh… Last month ONE day I had a bad losing streak and instead of breaking for the day I decided to play until I won… I lost like 12 games in a row (or rather because of bad matchmaking but that’s another story…). That was my bad but what I kind of forgot was the damn hidden MMR which got screwed in the process… Now I’m at legend around 500 and when I win I gain like 1~2 ranks and sometimes even lose a few… And when I lose I lose even more… This really makes me not wanna play… I know that I have to win games to increase this hidden MMR but it’s hard when the game also counters me like today the whole day… Good players will gain MMR quickly and this reset gives the more unlucky ones chance to get back on the horese…

How fast are you expecting to gain ranks at that level?

How big of a spread do you think there is between players?

Hell no. This is why you can’t feast on noobs every month and makes the game more fair for everyone.

It says its matching you with a player of equal skill.

It also says to expect to lose around half your games.

Then you queue into what?

Hard counters…

Thats where they get you…

the “equal skill” part is pointless when its just a hard counter.

The decks being used are 100% factored into what the matchup is.

Your hand must have slipped or something, you accidentally typed 100 instead of 0

I win against higher or lower rank I gain 3 points. I lose against lower or higher rank I lose like 10 points… Does that make any sence? There’s no winning for me in this game anymore it seems…

Yes. In the time it takes you to play a match, 3 players go from Diamond 1 to Legend, and because they have higher MMR than you they start Legend higher than you are now. So if you do nothing at all you’re -3, if you win it’s -3+7=+4 and if you lose its -3-7=-10

It still doesn’t make any sence because if I win with somone higher then I should get more points. If I lose to them I should lose less points… So what has to happen for me to get more points than lose huh? Also my main point is that because of 1 bad day a player shouldn’t be punished like that by the hidden MMR system. I used to be at around 200 Legend consistently. I took a break from HS (over a year) and I should be able to climb back to my “original place”… I’m not saying that I’m entitled to that or anything it’s just pure logic… So if there is MMR decay why isn’t there a MMR reset? Hmmm?

So, you reached your skill ceiling and you just don’t wanna or something? Welcome to ranked play and how it works. What a ridiculous idea.

Probably so that you don’t start each month with the highest skilled players demolishing newbies until MMR recalibrates.

Your ability to play the game doesn’t reset every month. They just reset the track to keep you playing the game.

I want to get better but it’s hard when the game is forcing me lose… If there was real RNG in matchmaking but not in this game. Most games are decided before the match starts and it doesn’t matter how well you play if the game decided you have to lose you will lose. I’ve played a lot and I know it’s true. So save it before you start saying that I’m biased or something…

Didn’t you know? Everyone is facing their hard counter every game. You think that Pure Paladin you’re facing is against the Tony Druid you actually queued up? No, no. They are in a completely different game getting bullied around by Body Bagger on 1, Battlefield Necromancer on 2. Forced 0% win rates for all. Must sell packs. All life must end.

That’s the thing, that slow grinding ranks while losing many ranks after 1 unlucky game doesn’t motivate me to play the game…

At the start of the month you gain far more stars for a win than you lose from a loss.

And there it is. The usual conspiracy theory garbage.

Show us. Post your findings here, please. Prove the naysayers (a lot of us) wrong and the crazies (you and a dozen others or so) right once and for all.

Bias? No. I think you can’t accept losing because you need to get better at the game. That’s not a “get gud bro” statement, it’s a fact.

Sounds like your rank is higher than your MMR, which is quite common if you hit Legend early in the season. Higher MMR players are reaching Legend later than you and you’re sitting in a rank that’s more befitting their MMR, so your climb will be gimped as the lower ranks of Legend fill up with stronger players who belong higher up. It will normalise at some point when you reach your appropriate rank and from there it will feel more fair. Alternatively, if you continue winning more than you lose, your rank gain per win will increase as your MMR gets closer to your rank.

It’s not a conspiracy when it’s true. I don’t have to prove anything to you as it has already been proven some time ago. You can search these or other forums for this if you want. On the off chance that you’re a fanboy or Blizz employe I will not engaged in further discussion with you on the subject as it is pointless. Think of that what you will.

Prove it.

Yes you do.

Show me. This “proof” has yet to be posted here.

Oh, so you mean the same psychobabble without evidence spewed here on a daily basis. This is not proof.

I used to be a fan of Blizz, but now I’m a cautious gamer with what they put out. I am definitely not a fan of those who just can’t accept they can win AND lose
(yourself, for example), so they come here with conspiracy theories without any proof.

I will. Always do until proven otherwise.

The game isn’t rigged. Until actual evidence showing that it is becomes unveiled me, and most people will continue to believe that it is not rigged. You and I’d say around 10 to 20 people that frequently say this are the main ones saying this here. This game has around 5 or so million players. I’d personally guarantee maybe a thousand actually believe the game is rigged. Now I’m not saying the game is by any means great but it’s not rigged.
