A true whale like myself already had these in golden.
This title made me think of
Having said that,
Me
I did upgrade one card. Iāll have to check which card that was. Will edit this post to reflect that.
Well they are pretty and shiny, so itās worth all the cost
Itās a good way to get a little bit of extra dust if you suspect a card will be nerfed. Basically you upgrade it beforehand and the full disenchant value later will also include the original card, netting you some extra but not a lot of dust.
Mad at math here. How much gold would it run someone to turn a deck into fully golden, assuming that deck currently has no golden cards in it?
Edit: For the life of me, I canāt figure out which regular card I upgaded. Is there any way for me to find it? Iām thinking, maybe, a Mecha-Shark.
Assuming you mean dust rather than gold here.
That depends on the rarity of the cards in the deck.
Commons cost 360 dust per copy to goldenize.
Rares cost 700 dust.
Epics cost 1200 dust.
Legendaries cost 1600 dust.
So, count the number of each rarity in the deck, then plug it into the following formula.
C = number of commons
R = number of rares
E = number of epics
L = number of legendaries
(C x 360) + (R x 700) + (E x 1200) + (L x 1600) = total dust cost to upgrade a deck to golden
How do you not know that 1 card youāve upgraded
Donāt you think it wasnāt worth it at all ?!
I really have no idea. I mustnāt have been paying enough attention. Enitely my error, for sure.
Iāll probably bling out Naga Mage since Iāve already got most of it in gold, but I need my second School Teacher from the reward track before I do so.
Itās not extra, it would be the exact same amount of dust since the cost is the difference.
The rough math in my head says that a cheap deck that has mostly common rares, a few epics could cost 5,000 to upgrade a pre owned non golden, keeping in mind that your core cards are already golden and sometimes can make up 1/2 of the deck. Then it could cost you about 40k to upgrade the most expensive deck (like the 19 legendary paladin one), highest theoretical maximum being 48k for a full legendary deck.
This is only a good idea for someone who basically has all of the cards already because you can basically own 3 new decks for the price of upgrading one deck to gold.
I donāt even know how this works and what the benefit of it is. Is the cost worth it? That is the real question.
Itās very subjective, itās a lot more worth if you enjoy the aesthetics of the golden cards and if you are likely to play that deck for like 1000 games. 80 dust is about $1 from presets I thought, so it could cost you anywhere between about $50 and $400 is the real world value of a golden deck, so maybe only if you have too much money and feel like supporting bliz is a good thing.
My dream is to have all the Mage and Rogue cards golden. Mage is my favorite class in Hearthstone, and Rogue was my main class in WoW.
Well Iād put it down there with all of our other dreams like owning an island, Iām sure your dream would cost more than $10,000 assuming you want all of the neutrals golden too, but actually Iām not sure if you can even get that much dust from presets alone so you can scrap the 80 dust = 1 dollar estimate.
Its nice that you can upgrade a legendary to gold for half the cost. However, Iām still keeping my dust for future expansions to top off my collection.
I cannot be a whale but I have golded cards on occasion I particularly liked. I donāt feel thereās anything wrong with the concept at all.
the value/worth is in the eye of the beholder.
i donāt recommend it unless your collection is meta-complete and your at a place where you donāt have to drip-buy packs anymore and can dedicate-save everything for the next expansionā¦
Iāve been auto-dusting all my gold cards since they started rotating cards to wild. but as time as gone on and as my collection has grown (i have 80%+ complete collection and every card dating back to Rise of Shadows) iāve been able to save up a backlogged surplus in gold and dust which is just now starting to afford me the luxury of blinging out some of my cardsā¦
though iāve decided to only to keep and up-grade craft Legendary cardsā¦
Iām actually in favor of Vanity and Cosmetic item. Blizzard should have even more option in the shop.
The idea is that the whales (not insulting, itās the right term) spend tons on the cash shop allowing blizzard to give players more content, more gold, more cards for free without hurting their revenue.
