The thing about Murloc Paladin

Initially, it seems overpowered in your face smackfest that you’re not prepared for, but it’s strength is also it’s weakness. They can only flood the board and attack face. That’s it. It’s consistent but slower than the other face decks. Board clears are not very effective, however, their first three ranks of minions are pretty weak, so try to focus their face with stronger minions in the first 5 turns, then when their board is full use Bartender Bob to freeze their minions and finish them off next turn.

Murloc paladin on the surface is a laze and lame deck. But to me it adds to the variety of playstyles which enrich the game.

Also, think back to when you were playing WOW and ran through a murloc camp… Yup

It’s the laziness of it that I find so offensive. That’s the number one reason I hate seeing it. It’s just so brainless and I’m wondering who the hell are they trying to appeal to by letting this deck exist? I agree I see it a lot less than I used to because even more brainless aggro decks have become attractive to the same type of player but it’s still irritates me when I do

My solution to the problem has been to find something better to do with my time. Do my dailies. Maybe get a game in once in awhile when I’m bored but hearthstone really isn’t worth the time and effort to get mad about anymore

Half of the decks are the same level of braindead. The top decks like dummy warrior, beast hunter, aggro DH, control DK are just as bad lol

You’re not wrong. There’s this overall trend of aiming for the lowest common denominator which is typical of any corporate enterprise. Reminds me of the Burroughs quote about how capitalism consumes quality and poops quantity

Sorry, but no, those decks require SOME thinking, murloc paladin is literally just play murlocs, that’s it

My Beast hunter handles them pretty easily. It’s the DKs, Priests and all their dang lheakikg I end up having trouble with.

That’s true for the first 3 or 4 turns.

Past that, which murloc you play actually matters. Sure you can continue to spam and build up buff faster. But you also have the option to play one of your precious rush cards. Or you setup a board with draw. If you have the kindred 3 drop in hand you may plan around which next murloc you want to discount + shield. The new kindred 2 drop (gives board rush) opens up another choice to make. What you get off the 1 mana spell or from random murloc generation will also lead to on the fly decisions.

And if they have warleader and/or aura in hand, they may make the decision to trade less start getting your face down to lethal range.

To the outside observer it may look like the pally is just playing murlocs, but there is a difference between those who know what they’re doing and those who don’t. The former are the ones who get into legend (and fall off), while the latter are the ones who stay in diamond and below, terrorize the lower ranks, and perpetuate the perception that murloc pallies are everywhere (even though the stats show that they really aren’t the most populous deck, but to the complainers, it’s feels before reals)

Its a poor mans draenei warrior which unfortunately did not get any support past its initial expansion… but is one of the more interesting tribal decks as sequencing plays make or break the game a lot of the time.

Say what you will but there is a miniscule ability to outplay anyone playing murloc paladin (although honestly that goes for most tribal decks).

Very easy to beat murloc pally. Just pick one of the top decks (dummy warrior is particularly painful). There are more.
