Oh but i can because i can just never draw resources and lose the game. That is far more random than anything in HS by a wide margin. This is coming from someone that used to work for WOTC back in the late 90’s. There are many CCG’s and LCG’s that are FAR superior to the design of MTG.
That is the most frustrating in Eternal - not drawing the sigils needed to play the cards.
I’d rather have non interactive play on my opponents turn than a hand full of stuff I cannot play.
Draw is an inherent aspect of EVERY card game. That and you can directly adjust that by adjusting your land ratios. If you are always being mana starved that’s def a skill issue.
Your skill issue doesn’t mean MTG is just as RNG as HS LMAO
I’ve been told that. But then I have too much land. Or too many creatures and not enough land to play them. Or when I think I’ve got it, my land is burned or damaged or whatever.
It’s inherently excessive frustration.
I saw a white deck (years ago) that was ALL stall. No attacking. Just consistent stalling and some spells that disabled stuff. I understand fun is subjective but…some folks like a little more faster pace.
The odds catch up with everyone…
I like the randomnes of this game. It is one of the main reasons I still play. Just having fun with some Yogg decks or Casino mage or Thoef rogue.
If hearthstone only consists of linear aggro decks or linear OTK decks, the game would be too predictable and boring imo (besides card draw rng). But I understand that everyone has other preferences.
Nevertheless, I just play hearthstone for fun and entertainment. If I want to test my skill without rng influence, I just play some chess.
Card draw rng exists in every ccg, but it isn’t equally random in each of them. The variance is greatly affected by the card design and the game’s rules (for instance it’s really high variance in mtg due to lands and in hs due to imbalanced cards, but quite low variance in a game such as duel masters where you can afford 1 dead draw per turn as you’ll place 1 card for mana anyway).
Yes, I totally agree with you on that. It’s unfair to compare the two. And agree that players are going to like what they like and that’s their decision.
Though, did think of a way to turn Hearthstone physical. First, get 3 HUGE and WIDE table for all the cards, dice and “playing field”. Then, just need a ton of d20s. See? Simple.
When I imagine physical hearthstone, I visualize holographic shenanigans.
it’s more like 48% and 48%
Bro.
If you’re gonna call people dumb, at least get things right.
There was netdecking in MTG 10 something years before HS even released.
People will defend hearthstone with their last breath. Its cool that you like it but don’t make up BS trying to defend it. The problem here is that too many people want to defend hearthstone for emotional reasons and want to ignore the evidence that the quality of the game is in serious decline. Nothing will change as long as the money keeps rolling in. The truth is for some reason the player base holds this game to a very low standard.
People will also make the opposite claims, to their last breath, Even including claims of the game being rigged against them (this includes YOU),.
But, hey, its fine for you to make unsubstantiated claimes, but if anyone else does it you rage like a man-child.
Pathetic!
As you might be able to tell by my profile picture I for one would love even more randomness. At a certain point it wouldn’t feel like a game anymore and I wouldn’t want to go that far, but we’re far from that.
That said though I understand that a lot of people are not really into that.
I personally think the best would be if people could make their own games/formats/tournaments with specific rules where for example if you don’t like all the RNG you just ban those cards and I for example would instead maybe go for “At the start of the game fill each deck with Scrolls of Wonder” for even more craziness instead. In fact there is so much I would love to try out and have fun with if they would give you the option. Maybe one day.
Why is your profile hidden? What is it you dont want anyone to see? The last thing I will worry about is the opinion of some neckbeard coward on the internet.
The more important question is why do you want my profile to be public?
Your answer is more than likely exactly why its private.
The thing is, there’s been plenty to criticise the game/devs for. And we may disagree on what things warrant criticism. But what unites us is that despite all of it, we still feel that the positives outweigh the negatives, and it makes sense we’d think that because we’re still playing the game and active on the forums. It just puzzles me that you can’t show any positivity at all without being accused of being a ‘shill’ or whatever by some basement dwelling Soyjak who has nothing better to do than make people feel bad on the internet while they play a game they (claim to) hate. It’s really frickin random.
You make great points, and I don’t think you are wrong, but I still maintain that the “randomness” of this game is the worst I have ever seen.
The matching and draw is crummy, random or no.
It may be fair, but it isn’t good.
Yeah sounds like you don’t want people to see all your old posts. Wonder why that is?
Why do you want to see my old posts? That is creepy stalker behaviour. and, YES, it is the reason I am private. I dont want to be stalked by the likes of you, or anyone else on these forums!
My old posts are still visible to all. I just dont enable creeps that want to stalk me. Havent since the (long overdue) feature to block said activity was introduced.
Sounds more like you don’t want people to look at the stupid things you have said on this forum. If you dont want people to see what you have posted why post it in the first place.
