So you played 4 games and 3 were Hunter? I mean give us some context here. Rank, games played, star bonus, your deck?
I am playing at diamon 5 now, the other day I got a lucky streak
today …
hunter
hunter
hunter
hunter
greed priest
DK
hunter
another greed priest
warlock
druid (there were so many hunters I almost forgot about this single random druid matchup)
hunter
hunter
I quit into the last hunter decided to stop playing for today, getting hunter fatigue
one of the most tilting games I think was before turn 9 summoned 2x 16 attack king crush
Okay that makes a WHOLE lot more sense because you are in D5. Honestly you should feel good about getting to D5. You have collected most of the months rewards and you have a solid star bonus next month.
As for your matches i can 100% see this because at D5 you have to do the only honest grind on the standard ladder. Most players in that bracket aren’t going to play anything but the best so hunter is going to make up most of the D5 meta.
I won’t lie i did my climb the day Titans dropped and played a face hunter i had theory crafted out before the cards were available. I ran like a buzz saw through the ladder to legend just pointing everything face. It was a day one meta though so there wasn’t much of a meta to play around. Your best bet now is to just play hunter or play Curse Lock. Curse lock is a very good counter deck to hunter. Paladin does well against hunter but everything else wrecks it so you are playing the percentages with Paladin. Druid and Rogue are your next best bets.
thanks for the suggestion, well I don’t like hunter and I think I dusted most of the cards I had for the class just to make one or two good decks last expansion,
I could maybe try curse, is it a lot of just face against hunter?
dosn’t it have big flip hound turns still where it heals back to full ?
The heal back can be mitigated by not loading the board much but even so one heal can be completely erased with a curse tick or two plus your own damaging going face. Against the aggro hunters you really want as much of the early curve as possible. Spot heal to stay as close to 30 as you can. There’s more healing in Curse lock than most expect when you play it correctly. Symphony is an obvious top early drop because how it can swing. This is what i was playing but you can throw in some Speaker Stompers if you see more Shaman/Mage decks but it’s not 100% necessary.

missing 5 cards, basically all but one of the legendary cards (I have Za’quil) and missing 1x Chaotic consumption, I don’t think it would work missing so much
Which Legendary are you missing?
Missing all of them except for Za’quil, also in a bizzare turn of events I tried making a bad version of this deck just to see…
I conceded instantly 5 times, 5 priests in a row! (am already bottom tier, I just wated to try vs a hunter)
next priest I decided to play which I got to say is even MORE frustrating that going against a wall of hunters, priest just went to 10 cards milled a card every turn
I’m at Platinum 5 and out of my last 11 matches, 9 have been against Warlocks and the other 2 were priests. So its not just hunters. In fact Warlocks appear to be the most OP class by a long way around this level. I’ve tried so many decks against them and they really need to bring Sargeras in line with the other titans. Who the hell thought a permanent portal was not going to be OP when coupled with their board removals?
It’s catching on and will get more popular once the patch is out. The weapon going to 1 just seems too good not to put in the deck now. At high legend it is really seeing a surge because of how good it is at dismantling hunter.
Because in a world with shared information the only people capable of getting positive results with their own decks are the top 1% of the deckbuilders.
Basically it’s internet’s fault.
Sadly true.
shared decks tend to beat decks designed by 1 person, they only advantage being people don’t know what to expect, and the progression has tended to be more and more shared decks.
Plat 10 I see probably 60% warlocks. 20% dh and the rest is an even split between hunters/priests/paladins and the occasional warrior.
I did see a lot of dk’s in silver and high gold but none over gold 5.
Warlock to beat hunter, keep the board to 1 minion from 6-9, try and track how many hounds played and how many copies of hound they have. try and have taunts from 10+ mostly just wear then down with curses or go the big board route with multiple life drain or 11/11
What did you expect from META players.
Well if your going to just get to legend quickly as ever. Your going to have to use the most boring win type decks ever.
Just control the board and regulate the incoming damage and then drop Saregeras. GG the Hunter just lost. If you happen to get a strong board opening and then roll into your curse package they are probably dead by turn 7 or 8. Hunter healing with hound doesn’t bother the Warlock deck.
Besides D5 being the grindiest, meta’ist, copy/paste’ist part of ladder, there was also the tournament over the weekend wherein Hunter was the top performer
Greetings traveller!
If you want to spot me a couple of Hundred so i could afford some more decks that aren’t a$$ be my guest.
You already know why people do it. They want to win. If you’re not bothered about winning, concede and move on. If you are, then you understand the motivation.
Your sample size is small. I will legit fight like 5 hunters in a row at times.
But I play mech rogue and I have a positive win rate against them. Despite how annoying hunters are, they still fall prey to a huge windfury stealth mech. Freezing Trap and star power can get in the way, but they don’t usually have those answers.
