It seems like this game now revolves around embedded mana cheatā¦ but they do an absolutely poor job of balancing around it.
So my first thoughts wereā¦these cards look really boringā¦ and my second thought was that they also seem way too slow compared to the mana cheat other classes will be doing in the game.
Celestial aura seems the most interesting of the bunch with the rest playable but not particularly interesting which is the hallmark of paladin gameplay I suppose.
play a 8+ cost card to corrupt
unless you reduce its cost
It looks like horrible design to me. Having the cards become stronger (extra effects) after youāve already made them stronger (reducing mana cost) is āwin moreā design. āWin moreā designs are bad, and they should be obviously bad; this is basic CCG knowledge. Itās almost as if theyāre deliberately trying to make the deck feel bad to play as and bad to play against.
Iām not anti mana reduction (I even take offense to the term mana cheat) but activating additional bonuses for zero cost is kinda ridiculous.
Assuming no copying/bounces/etc, pallies can get the same total discount for librams as the first time around. -6 to librams all game was usually more than enough in the past, so it should still be fine.
Turn 3 weapon (and swing) into turn 4 wayfarer can allow you to play a 0 cost libram of clarity. Trinket artist could draw wayfarer on 3 (plus an aura), but pallies are likely to run other divine shield minions (not that those arenāt good either)
Thereās more to consider one the rest of the leaks are revealed. I mean I know what they are, but Iāll wait for official reveal.
I take it back celestial aura isnt really even powerful compared to Libram of divinity. Libram of divinity can be made 0 as early as turn 5ā¦ which then makes it 0 costā¦ which if 2 are in your hand essentially become āfor the rest of the game give a minion +6/+6 every turnā.
I suppose turn 5 is slow today by hearthstone standards but a free +3-6 every turn isnāt bad
Continuing my thoughts: libram discounts were fine the first time around, but Iām pretty sure pallies drew slower back then.
Now thereās a libram that draws. Draw minions in fact, which pallies usually like. And it even gives them buffs.
Even a turn 3 weapon into another weapon (you swing and use up the first one, and just equip and donāt swing the second one) still nets you -3 for a 0 mana draw 2 plus handbuff.
That little neutral 1/2 that draws a weapon should continue to be a favorite for pallies, even in decks that donāt go for painterās virtue.

Iām not playing handbuff.
What I like is that they are all holy spells so they can be tutored, reduced in many ways and are an excuse to use the legendary spell that gives divine shield to the hero, although it sucks and only serve against warriors that make you lethal with a single blow but looks coolā¦
My favorite card of this set is the legendary that costs 6 that has not been revealed
lumia seems incredibly overpowered but oh well. power creep lol
Lumia just deletes aggro lmao(poor Demon Hunters so sad),ah Paladin its always op stuff as per tradition.
And they gave it premium stats lmao.
Not sure the immunity of Lumia is the most important power of it when itās only 6 mana for 9/9 and lifesteal.
the last paladin card and last card of the expansion
apparently this cannot discover Libram of Judgement sadly only Libram of Justice, Wisdom and Hope. Actually I am not sure about this. It should be able to discover Judgement too I dunno. Thatās just what one website said. Maybe they missed putting Judgement on their webpage.
I am not sure how I feel about Lumia. I think itās a pretty cool card and I like that they printed it for multiple reasons. But at the same time it feels kind of unfair that itās a paladin card? Many classes would love this and I am not quite seeing why Pala should be the one to land a legendary like this. It would probably be a nightmare as a neutral tho, but I do feel this should be a different class.
Edit: also why the hell does it have 9 attack thatās mental.
apparently lumia is a swear word in spanish so lol another mess up like skyla
Lumia gets absolutely murdered by rocket hopper & mister mukla.
Insert 3 generations worth of posts complaining about how much developers hate paladin and why it should be an 11/11
also why the hell does it have 9 attack thatās mental.
I guess if the +3/+3 libram is 0 its actually 12/12 or 15/15 so never mind the paladins can stop complaining.
I can say that Lumia doesnāt really mean anything in spanish. Kinda sounds like deriving from lumus which I believe is latin for light iirc.
Edit: itās lumen actually.
Edit2: apparently there is indeed an obscure and arcaic use of that word that is a slur, but as a native speaker I can guarantee no one ever says that. Didnāt even know that was a thing lol

Both of those cards have secondary handicaps, and you seem to think Lumia will be always 9/9.
The best use of it is probably handbuffing it to ~20/20 or so.
