Maladaar looks really good. Its so easy to make corpses.

Seems kind of like a waste of corpses though since there’s other good uses for them. I dunno I guess it is the most efficient way of mana cheating out stuff.

It’s a bit weird there isn’t a single Frost Rune card. They really want people to play Double Blood Unholy this expansion.

Copying all the reborns with an 1-drop gives Pirate DH vibes.

That class is in need of nerfs, it’s way too board-cleary.

Let me see if I get it right for the 1 drop

So when minion “is reborn”, means when it dies the first time
And a “copy” of it is summoned… the copy is the one that only has 1 health, and not a full health one with reborn again?

DK can give any minion reborn via some cards/location, so that should be how it works, or you end up with something like giving raska reborn, and then it pops up again with another reborn, by that point it’s probably overkill in stealing their board.

Assimilating blight has a lot of potential because it has a narrow discover pool, so chances are good you’ll find the one you want, including the new star ship piece. But I suppose it’s purposely made a little strong to push double unholy one blood.

On the blood side, orbital moon gives control DKs easy access to taunt and lifesteal, which should give them a big leg up against wide board aggro (read pirates). A total minion hate play would be putting it on octo-masseuse :joy:

edit: oh and another nasty combo is threads of despair then orbital your minion (e.g a ghoul). The lifesteal should work with the deathrattle explosion.

Airlock breach is pretty expensive, but it offers stall/taunt for unholy, blood, and rainbow. It’s a corpse spender for rainbow as well.

Exarch screams “cheat out reno” to me, or a yogg or zilliax in a clutch. Is there a card that can discount draenei to make it even faster?

…or it can cheat out 8 hands, in some kind of big DK deck. In today’s meta it’s probably risky in control vs control, but perhaps in a control vs control match, the DK holds onto 8 hand until they have less deck than the opponent, or wait for opponent to shuffle their treasures/eruptions/etc. Going off on a tangent, it’s got a beast tag, so technically hunter could randomly get it off of macaw, which I’m not sure if that’s a highroll or not.

Wakener of souls is another thing Exarch could cheat out. Very greedy.

All these deathrattles will give death growl one last expansion to do some seriously greedy stuff.

I think I will have a “bloody” good time playing some of these! Exarch is probably my day 1 golden craft of the set . Looks fun!

As someone who enjoyed frost DK I really hate the rune system because as someone mentioned I dont think they’ve bothered with any decent frost cards in a very long time now.

I also absolute dislike ‘the 8 hands’ card design and its just going to lead to a bunch of RNG kiljaden vs kiljaden games which no one asked for.

Furthermore these deathrattle cards are really just handbuff support (see soulbound spire) which is an overdone mechanic at this point. I guess you can make a second go of frost bitten freebooter/eliza but thats really it as there arent a whole ton of great deathrattle minions.

Auchenai death speaker looks neat and I wonder how it works with eternal layover… Do I play auchenai and then reksa then eternal layover and then get 2 auchenais and 2 reksas with each having 1 hp each? Would it be another way to mass chain elizas? Probably too slow a combo (outside of a 0 mana reksa).

It also seems weird that you wouldnt be able to put airlock breach in a deck that wants to use vampiric blood. I think at this point they should reduce all triple rune cards to double rune (vampiric embrace becomes blood 2, frostworm fury becomes 2 frost ect.) since they refuse to add any explicit support for triple rune decks and given the nonsense in the game already I doubt opening up triple rune cards to more decks is going to break anything.

I guess long story short these cards are kind of disappointing. No frost cards, more overplayed handbuff archetype support when theres a billion other classes that can do handbuff now, a pretty bland ‘blood dk’ win condition card that doesnt even win as you can just tech kiljaden if it ever becomes popular… Exarch maladaar obviously is supposed to combo with wakener of souls… but then there arent any good deathrattle minions that you would rather resummon over just triggering the deathrattle with deathgrowl/yodler.

Perhaps they’re expecting some weird midrange obsidian reaver/travel security deck to popup, but without some mana cheat like felfire bonfire thats going to be absurdly slow.

Also from my understanding of starships the DK one will pretty much be created with the summon a minion with cost = to attack & spellburst: trigger a random deathrattle… which might as well say summon the starship and then summon a random minion = to the starships attack which really doesnt seem all that powerful for the investment, especially since it seems tailored for a handbuff DK deck which at that point is going to be dropping 30/30s and isn’t going to care about some 8 attack ship and an 8/8.

Necrotic explosions T6 anyone? I’m sure we all need that after an entire expansion of seeing elementals go face T4,5 & 6.

Now all they need is to give DK conman somehow, and we’ll get a repeat of the meta for the last two months but DKs instead of mages.

maybe they should let triple rune cards be discoverable again since they keep printing powerful non-triple rune DK cards and made some triple rune cards double runes.

After seeing Airlock Breach i am more convinced that they are going to phase out Triple rune cards in the game. It makes sense in order to help with design. It’s not like any of the Triple rune cards that currently exist cannot be double rune with how much power creep has occurred since DK released.

Blight is going to be good. Exarch is a mana scam so it will also probably be good.
