As far as the meta is concerned, this is just the natural result of the best power card being a neutral again.
We have had far too much of that for far too long.
Kazakusan into Denathrius into Astalor into Reno.
When the build around powerhouse is something multiple classes can use, you get metas that feel really samey.
They’ve also put themselves into a corner with some of the game enders (Brann warrior comes to mind) where so long as they leave that design as is… It isn’t going anywhere because it’s a hard limit to the game length.
At best blizz can make a whole bunch of decks that kill it faster, but if everyone can kill that, with all the control tools it has, there’s no late game at all. And if fast decks can’t kill it, well, it’s the best late game possible.
There’s a lot of poor design choices in the game right now that are shaping this meta. Everything is too swingy, and every game feels pretty much the same.

I very much don’t think Reno is the sole problem here, or even one of the top contributors.
Most of the problems seem to follow similar patterns as always: pop off turns that have no way to play against (fatigue lock, dragon priest, excavate rogue) overtuned scaling only available to one class (handbuff) and direct hand to face damage (hand buff pally can still otk late game for over 30 DMG)

In part this meta looks like some classes where just cut of their capacity to do that exact type of stuff while others were allowed to run rampant with it.
I say this looking at all we changed and sincerely if it is for it to be this half baked i would dare to say that not nerfing anything would be better.
Sorry for the power reset cult(yes, those people are a cult at this point) but would rather play a slighty more balanced game with all those design problems than letting cards and decks die one by one for something that will never happen in large scale.
Talking about Pain warlock, Rainbow mage and many others.

He’s not the sole one, just one of many. He’s basically an overly versatile tech card that’s good against basically anything expecting to see turn 9. And because he’s the only card that can cleanly answer a LOT of stuff, it makes him the a highlander card that actually makes EVERYONE run highlander.
Id put him in the top 10 of problematic design cards right now. I’m just exactly sure where I’d rank him.
But yeah, every deck wins in a way you can’t really play around much.
Stats way beyond removal/tempo tools elsewhere.
Crazy burn
Turns that do way more than your opponent could hope to deal with.
Or lol I deleted 18 cards.
Sometimes they do more than one.
None of it is particularly good for player agency. I remember when Keleseth was a meta monster just giving a deck +1/+1…
Now look at hand buff pally.

It wasn’t exactly like that.
Your history about keleseth is not told properly.
Sure. The card could highroll but the decks were just mediocre enough to steal some games without it creating some RNG based player agency in the matches were it didn’t happen.
Nowadays cards make keleseth feel like briliant design and it isn’t a compliment.

I wasn’t telling a history.
Keleseth was an obnoxious card at the time because sometimes he just won the game on turn 2 with a +1/+1 effect.
Like you said, he would look like a reasonable and well designed card these days.
Blizz went off the deep end with making cards that have high game impacts, and now we are just buried in them while a few have taken over.
You can’t even really fix it, because there’s a ton of this stuff hovering in tier 3 or 4 just waiting for the stuff in tiers 1 and 2 to get deleted. It’s just years of card design that doesn’t yield engaging games.

Sometimes i kinda wish they did overflow it like crazy one time so people got so tired of it that we could justify stop with those “gimmick” cards.
Gimmick being used here as card that makes you build your deck in a non conventional way.
I kinda asked myself if bringing the most high powered core in history for a year and then slowing down the next year would be a good idea.
Basically take all the powerhouses of the past and just make a core with then:
Get keleseth, baku , genn and all that stuff in standard together to get public opnion so tired about that type of card(if you build your deck a certain way) that we could stop it for a time the other years.

Lol this official Hearthstone cartoon is basically representative of the meta

Great synopsis of the meta!

I dont see how mentioning how many different classes are being played means anything when all the classes play the same.
Its too easy to build a board and too easy to remove a board now.
The game goes from 0 —> 100 mph back to 0 mph—>100 mph over and over again until either someone misses a clear or the other person assembles the cards to do 120 damage from hand.
Some people may find that exciting… others boring

This meta is totally not boring but annoying. I have played only against paladin. I dont understand why, either everybody play as a paladin or HS havent got enough players.

And yet yesterday and today I’ve met lots of Reno DKs which let me to finish legend run for this month quite easily.
Maybe paladins got tired of mirrors?

Yes, yesterday we took a break from paladins
From my experience, they all swapped to Painlock and Gaslight rogue, because they’re tired of losing against those and we’ve seen the rise of those two decks with the fall of paladins

Crusader Aura is too powerful.
it should be “Minions played or summoned while this is active get (the benefit)”
The difference?
You cant have a board filled with 7 minions and THEN play it when your turn refreshes.
You need to play the Aura for 4. THEN any minions you drop into play after that get the “buff”

I started playing Reno because it feels like a requirement to stand up to some decks.
