I started playing wild again on the side for a change of pace and seeing what can be done in wild and the pace of games. I Don’t see much difference, I am hoping the coming year with rotation widens the gape again but I won’t hold my breath.
But yeah not much reason to play standard unless you trying for Esports i feel when you could play wild.
Yeah no. Raise slightly in rank in there, and see your deck being milled in 10 seconds.
It’s fun if the rank is low. I had a lot of fun winning with The 8 Hands from Beyond.
Yes and no.
Yes, there is more and more degenarate play patterns in Standard with each card set released. You can amass 100-200 armor in a single standard game or deal 50-60 damage OTK. In Standard as in Wild game is less about minions and board control and is all about wxplosive turns where you either create full board out of nowhere when your opponent is unable.to remove it (say, Dungar Druid, Libram Paladin) or you waste them with OTK they have no way of surviving (say, Discover Hunter, Odyn Warrior, Lynessa Paladin, Libram Paladin).
An no, Wild is quite different rhan Standard. The meta is pretty stale as most of the new cards are too weak to even get included in existing decks let alone create new archetypes. Balance changes for Wild are also almost non existent so the top decks rule the meta for years at a time. Also there is much more avenues to play in Wild: more anti-OTK strategies, more spell, minion, what-have-you disruption.
So while I agree that Standard degeneracy is approaching Wild levels Standard is very different to Wild. And that is even before we mention the cost of getting multiple playable decks in both formats.
