For me it would be similar to Wild, were almost every single class (except DK) have several viable deck archtypes running around.
Standard archetypes viability is super rigid, which makes the mode a bit stale. Honestly, I don’t believe the leaked nerfs will change a whole lot (only really deleting Dorian Lock off the face of the earth).
What you guys consider would be the ideal state of balance in Standard?
Festival of Legends meta.

How about balancing the archetypes so we can play all of them in a same meta? We haven’t tried that for at least 8 months
I think the best meta we can ever get in Hearthstone is a mid range meta, where there is enough room for skill expression (not the case currently or for a while going back in time) and the games aren’t too short (hyper aggro turn 4 kills) or drawn out control matches (turn 20 plus).
My ideal game length given the current typical draw rate of a mid range deck is somewhere around turn 7 to ten, probably 8.5.
I really miss incremental decisions mattering. At this point every turn is basically a reset of the game and/or one turn closer to a scripted otk.

Similar for me. Queueing into an opponent and not immediately knowing what they are playing just by their class is my ideal. I don’t mind class balance being a bit skewed as long they each have viable options.

It is pretty simple. They keep pushing incredibly polarizing mechanics. When almost every deck revolves around 1 turn that completely flips the game into an unwinnable position or just literally wins the game on the spot, there is no real good way to balance without throwing the entire set into a wood chipper.

Is that really the state of the game, though?
If it was, I’d have to say we’re currently in a Tempo meta
Midrange tempo, at that
You know what? hsguru does agree with that notion
I might have to flip my cognitive switch and see if things get better on the ladder
Corporate greed will never let that happen unfortunately
They release an expansion to sell packs so ideally want those cards being powerful enough that people have no choice but to spend money to get the top decks.
That will always have the side effect of locking everything else out of being played.
Truth is, they could make new expansions balanced but theyd likely make less money since the new cards wouldnt be necessity so theres less need for people to buy into the next expansion.
I think lost city had demonstrated it perfectly clearly. You either release something completely broken that destroys the game like quest paladin or you make something that is balanced but never gets played cus the rest of the game is so unbalanced, like all the other quests.
The game will never be fixed because the devs don’t have the guts to do what’s required. They either need to
• giga nerf most of the cards in the game to bring the power level down so new cards like the quests will see actually see play. Buffing the quests to compete is just playing into power creep
Or
• Accept the next year of Hs is a rightoff and release underpowered expansions for the next year until rotation. That way when next April hits and 2024 sets rotate, all the broken cards go and leaves it so the power level of 2025 sets to be relatively normal

Hi RageMage101!
Off-Topic:
Hi you recently lost Arena against me.
You added me and raged that I was a cheater and that you reported me because “half your spells went of twice!” Than you blocked me before I could reply…
Just wanted to say: Maybe look up Tyrande…
