Do anyone know any deck in which it is playable?
I have the card, I’d say it’s pretty hard to pull off, one day it might be easier to draw 5 cards in a turn and the effect itself is absolutely insane. If it’s ever good, I think it’ll get instant nerfed because the card can give you like 10 mana reduction for just one mana and a card, DH would have to be pretty weak overall if it couldn’t do something with that after drawing a ton of cards. It also would involve a lot of checks to be meta though, because the meta couldn’t be aggro or else you wouldn’t have the time to setup, DH would have had to be simultaneously strong while receiving good draw cards.
Outclassed by relic of dimensions
Final showdown has creep potential as draw becomes cheaper and more powerful whereas relics might just be unique to this set and drop off, it might be a reoccurring theme, but who knows? Either way they are not very good cards to compare.
Final Showdown was extremely dependent on Glide to work, so when it rotated it just stopped making sense honestly.
I think after all the feedback last year about questlines, Blizzard just wanted to let them kinda stagnate. Even though I kinda think that they could make some small buffs to them. The rotation hit most of them pretty hard and took away a lot of the excessive stuff that made them so broken (and really, questlines like Final Showdown were… not especially broken).
They seem to be pushing some Questline Shaman and Mage stuff in the new cards so far, tho, so maybe they’ll give Final Showdown a last little hurrah in Standard too.
What Quests still exist right now in Standard? Priest Quest? It exists because Priest doesn’t get win conditions beyond boring the opponent to death. Doesn’t even get value minions. Like, what else even sees any kind of play, and why should the DH Quest get buffed when the rest of them are also mostly dead?
The Mage Questline is an okay tech as like a draw engine, I think there’s a Jailer deck that uses the Warlock questline. Hunter Questline I think is still playable.
But nothing meta, sure.
This topic kind of inspired me to take another look at Final Showdown, though. And I came up with this:
It works pretty well and is a fun deck if nothing else. (You probably want Kyraxis in here somewhere but I don’t own him)
