The Discard Quest Warlock is a study in poor game design. The deck relies on :
broken draw
( backfire, mortal coil, and all the minion draws )
unrealistic heals
( 6 from quest, 12 from bristleback, 6 from lifesteal + duplciates from tasmin)
mana cheating
(2 x mithril rod)
The deck does not care about the board as they know they have all the board clears and healing they need. The only reason they even care about a board is so they can hurt themselves killing them via their self damaging spells.
This is just such a poorly designed deck which negates all the disadvantages of warlock’s draw damage. Both warlock and shaman quests weaponised what is supposed to be the weakness of the classes in draw damage and overload.
Just blow up these idiotic quests already. Going forward i dont see how they even print a useful warlock card that doesn’t draw or heals/self dmg.
I don’t see how the game can recover from the disaster that are the new quests anytime soon. It has become linear, predictable and non-interactive for the most part. As long as the quests exist, I don’t see a way out of this.
I think it’s fun. I also like Celestial Anacondra Druid, Dunk Tank/Circus Medic OTK Shaman, and Quest Paladin. Different players have different tastes.
LOL That’s the deck list I was talking about before the expansion was released but I didn’t think anyone would actually play it since the meta was way too fast.
You basically need to play Bolner and Yshaarj on the same turn.
Yshaarj gets you dunk tank and medic for free.
You dunk tank their face, then drop medic to their face.
When you play medic, bolner activates Yshaarj again filling your hand with dunk tank and medic again.
Infinite loop of unlimited damage for free.
But you do need bolner and yshaarj on the same turn, so you have to save blooms.
Combo deck:
Play corrupted Dunk Tank
Play Corrupted Medic
Wait for Bolner and Yshaarj and Bloom in hand at the same time
Play the combo.
If you can get 2 corrupted Dunks out, it helps, but at least one of each.
Then at 10 mana, play Bolner, then Lightning Bloom, then Y’shaarj and your hand will fill with zero mana Dunks and Medics. Play the Dunks first, then the Medic (which will refill your hand with Dunks and Medics. Try to have room on your board and in your hand if you can.
I mulligan for any of the combo pieces, Dunk, and Medic; and then pretty much just try to hold out and stay alive until ready to play the combo. Warshack kind of put Mutanus in there for added meme value to try to eat someone’s quest reward 7/7. But any high cost card should work to help corrupt the Dunks and Medics.
Same! i still use it and the Supreme Archaeology quest quite often. There’s too many flavors of Warlock so i kinda spread the love around in terms of what i queue up as for a match lol
