The current state of mage, hunter and paladin

I love shaman and play it also in World of Warcraft… But I have to admit, it kinda sucks. I mean, if I play it well, I can manage a decent win rate. However, it’s just naturally underpowered (is that the right word?). I feel its hero power needs a buff.

They need to either ditch overload or print a ton of cards that actually turn it to an advantage. A classic 2 Mana 2/2 with, refresh unlock your overloaded crystals, gain +1+1 for each unlocked crystal, would be a good example.

They designed a whole spell based build for Shaman and then forgot that overload cripples the class every other turn.

Same way they made a bunch of battlecries for shaman that don’t actually work with the quest (hagatha being a prime example) or with the other archetype (totem).

Its Paladin all over again. Too many directions, not enough forethought.

Forgive me here, but how doesn’t Hagatha work with the shaman quest? I mean, it can. However, it will likely also destroy your entire board if you’re, say, using lackeys or other low-cost minions with battlecry. I think I see your point?

How
0 cost mana silence
mind control
broken +3/+3 with free heal
XDD??
card by existing, sitting there playing, drawing a card.
Priest is broken
Mage is broken
Demon Hunter is sadly, hilariously, infuratingly broken.
Forgot to say:
AOE SILENCE ON 4 MANA.
Silence is such a mistake it shouldn’t be in the game.

I think you’re just wrong, man. This expansion is my first and this meta is, too. I haven’t found any classes to be OP, honestly. There are some archetypes that sadly counter you, there are some archetypes that are simply better constructed than yours, and what have you.

I do kinda agree with you on the point of priests. I’ve been versing many of them lately and I hate to say it but I do think some of the cards are broken. Like reviving and refilling your entire board, often with minions with taunt, reborn and/or healing effects.

As for silence, I don’t think that it shouldn’t be in the game at all. It’s sometimes the only counter to some cards? (Or at least the most viable counter.)

You can do it when your oponent is AFK

I mean I’m no legend played but got to 2 star
rank 2 diamond last league, so I’d argue I at least have some understanding of this game/how play works in upper tiers.

Diamond rank 5 onwards you very very very rarely see anything but the exact same hunter, paladin, and mage decks, with the odd priest in there. I’m the priest playing against the grain with my gala deck with subbed cards to try and counter the insanity of the other three and try and at least force kind of a fun game.

Game decided in the first 3 turns are pretty awful all around, but unfortunately if you don’t draw your aoe cards early against those decks it’s basically over

That’s unfortunately what happens in this and other games. Take Overwatch, another Blizzard game that I play. Overwatch will, no matter what, always have metas. Blizzard can nerf and buff heroes all they’d like, but there’s ultimately going to be meta. I really think that it’s unavoidable, inevitable. Don’t you?

lol I don’t even know why you think people squirm about that. Are you really proud that you’re playing a netdeck? I get to diamond by playing my own decks and I don’t bother going for legend all the time because there’s simply no motivation for it. I’ve been wrecking most of these netdecks and the only things that pretty much stop me is the RNG clownfiesta, or if I’m directly playing against a deck I can’t beat or if my opponent draws the nuts. I play decks that I find fun and that I actually have some input on the strategy I plan to take, rather than just copying a deck from the google.

I play to have fun, not to grind mindlessly. Grinding on this meta is really unhealthy with all the BS around.

Can sum up faster the state of mage hunter paladin

Mage: Praise or Curse RNG
Paladin: Get Rekt DH
Hunter: Me smart

The meta doesn’t stop at Diamond 5. At the truly hyper competitive ranks, where the exact edge each meta deck or card choice really matters, it’s quite different.

Paladin, for example, is much more rare, and players often use a more complicated non-pure version.

Also I don’t really feel like many remaining decks just auto-win with the right starts. Most decks have a possible power opening, that is true, but for each one there is an effective answer that makes it not even optimal. Yes sometimes you just lack the right answer and get run over, but every even remotely meta deck is of sufficient power that you can put up a fight against their best start. Nothing is as busted as optimal ramp into Guardian Animals was.

Well, I don’t remember being AFK when a rogue played a 8/8 edwin on turn 1 against me, lol…

Netdeck’s the new “racist!” -card.

::puts on being a pedantic PITA hat::

Not really, since netdeck is not a bad thing, while being racist pretty much always is.

So people complaining about netdecking as if it’s bad are more like… right wingers who complain about people being “woke”, when all people are doing is just… not being racist.

For me Edwin is indeed a problem (also the coin. the coin should be a button and not a card). But we are talking about Paladin, and for me, Paladin is far to be a problem.

So emo, so dark, maybe roll a hate mage (warlock)?

You may be right. I do love me some MCR…

you miss spell unfair for mage

paladin is why we need return of silence priest

Hunter been a problem for 5 expiations but everyone ignore me when i say it was going to snowball

Sounds like the game is just not fun. They really pooped the bed with this rotation. Herp derp RNG and Face decks

isnt that the joke deck people talked about all the time when they released that silence card for your own minions nobody used ?
