New Arena upgrades are trash. Now you can’t play without spending money or spending gold. Guess what? you’re scaring all F2P and new players away for a few dollars. Guess what? We don’t need more packs as rewards in the arena.
-Who cares about packs in a draft mode like Arena?
-Who cares about packs when you play BGs or Wild and wanted a draft run?
You can buy minisets, cards and packs with Gold. I won’t be spending that Gold into Arena tickets, which sucks cause I really liked the mode.
If you’re not a whale or paying money actively, then this mode is off-limits for you. Which sucks. Also, Arena has no hero reroll, if your picks suck, then eat them cause retiring and paying a new ticket with Gold is less likely now. Did you get a bad draft? No problem, eat it too while you face bot accounts getting free gold from China!
-Why not remove those extra packs and give us gold rewards back from the Arena?
-Sell us reroll tickets in the Arena in case you don’t like your hero picks.
But don’t lock away players with a Gold barrier to at least try the mode and decide if it’s worth climbing the new MRR system (Which I think is a great change) with a hero they like.
The new interface and Arena modes are good, however, I feel like this is just gonna kill the mode like they killed Duels, Twist, and Classic. Please add the Gold rewards back to the Arena, if we need packs, we can buy them WITH GOLD.
Pd: This is an MMO-TCG, this is the TCG game a lot of us chose and love, and want to stay for a long time. We need accessible modes to play to keep the game thriving and player base growing, not more money traps to squeeze it and kill it as if it was Candycrush or AngryBirds. This seems the ultimate goal of game directors in the last few years.
I’m just sad about all the bad decisions they keep doing towards game modes. They never launch surveys or request feedback, they just throw unwanted and unasked-for stuff at us, and then feel the backlash. Who’s directing this game and towards where? Closing servers so everyone goes play Magic and YugiOh? Man this is very sad to all of us who have played and loved the game for years and wish it to continue growing, not cutting its own legs.
I wish they had added cosmetics to Duels so they could have made money and give it a real chance before killing it. Good Old Activision GREED is killing this game.
