I don’t get it. If Blizzard locks down Tony/Jailer combo from Druids why can’t they do something more permanent to Thaddius when it comes to Warlock? 3 expansions later and I am still having to deal with this Amorphous/Thaddius trash combo that just boils down to whether I can remove it or I just lose on turn 5, 6, or 7.
It’s bad enough that Paladins has a lot of mana cheating cards in Standard, but at least I can deal with them fairly more consistently than this annoying combo. Its just baffling. Really is. Sorry, I know this post is created time and time again but this kinda crap really frustrates me.
I agree it should have been addressed sooner rather than later but its hard for a small dev team to issue a quick patch during the holidays. It’s better they sit down and release an official patch before next expansion.
You have to wonder what type of player uses the above mentioned warlock deck? It’s guttersnipe level of complete personal, ethical, and moral degeneracy.
Is it a trend to bully palas with no data to back it up? The class is currently at an abysmal ~35% win rate on high-legend according to robust statistics of Firestone (when we even use the conservative-stats toggle).
Rogue and other whiner-classes are easily above 50%; it’s pretty obvious what is nerfed usually; what is not played the most and hence has the least whiners.
Why do I need to provide data here? Look at the card pool library and you can see a fair amount of cards that get “reduced” in cost fairly easily. Besides, I just said I can handle paladin decks to a degree.
Everyone knows that mana cheating cards are the best, why? Because it feels great to play but terrible to play against. Mana cheating is one of the most problematic mechanics in HS by a mile.
Also btw looking at stats from other websites I don’t see where you are getting the abysmal “35%” winrate from. Metatstats shows Paladin at 56.6%, HSReplay shows Aggro paladin decks at 70.1% hearthstonetop decks lists both Buff Paladin and Earthen Paladin to be top meta decks. Seems to me that Paladin is doing just fine.
He said high legend - legend top 1k has zero paladin decks above 50%, the class isn’t even played at top 1k. Last 3 days HSReplay at top 1k legend has zero paladin decks. Not sure it’s remotely relevant to the topic at hand but just wanted to note that the observation is correct.

a) that’s a tiny portion of the meta
b) Paladin is so um… intuitive to play that if they’re even mildly competitive in pro ranks they make the game miserable for everybody else. VS even said this in report #282. Us scrubs are people too ,and we also deserve a fun game.
If the devs could think of something more engaging for the class than ‘Big dumb divine shields go brrrr’ then this wouldn’t be an issue.
Win rate is ALMOST ENTIRELY MEANINGLESS below diamond-5.
This is because the streak bonus and the general bonus makes you advance even below 50% win rate(!!!); that means mainly the clearly worst players generate a lot of stats below diamond-5; they are the only ones who stay there for a lot of games to even generate stats (the best players are there for a while at the start of a month but they quickly leave it affecting its stats very little).
So basically check what’s going on in legend and top 2000 of legend; paladin is approximately useless on the basic decks; only a couple of highlander decks may have a chance (from the popular decks) but it’s unclear to me if those are even “paladin” or more like monstrocities of legendaries mainly to promote pay-to-win.
