Did your opponent use Psychic Scream as well? If Tess gets shuffled in to your deck via Psychic Scream, it becomes your Tess now, and all the cast after becomes yours (happens on your side of the board).
This is fully intentional. When Yogg switches board from one of its effect, the spell is cast as though opponent is taking control of Yogg. Same goes for Tess. Yogg stops casting if he leaves the board by any means, so should Tess, but this was specifically made an exception. Hence even though Tess left board, it still cast its effect, for her owner (you, after Psychic Scream).
not completely right mizpah: Old Yogg (before it got nerfed) worked exactly like tess does now. Tess was stated to just work like the old Yogg. So, yes it’s intended.
Blizz tried to change Tess to work like Yogg. They said that was their original intention (Tess stop casting when it leaves board), along with Lynessa casting buffs randomly (on release, Lynessa cast buffs in the order it was played). Players didn’t like the change on Tess (more to do with no dust refund on it I would say, but no one would say that out loud). As players prefer Tess stay the way it was (her not being impactful or strong as Yogg), Blizz revert back the change (Lynessa was still changed to cast buff randomly).
