Both Hero Power and Buddy are legitimately worthless against anything that has a shield. Great you can break the shield, but the buddy’s buff should still trigger. You already have to wait until late game for the Hero Power to become useful again after early matchups, but the buddy is also a 5* and I promise that buddy has seen more use out of Tess and Scabbs turning it into a 6* from a Faceless Disciple, super early in most cases, than it has from Tavish himself.
I’m almost on the fence about the idea that Buddy’s should be banned from Faceless Disciple upgrades.
Or at this point, maybe Faceless Disciple should get removed on top of Millhouse abuse. I sat at T3 after hitting a triple Faceless and continually bought every 6* minion and ended the game at T3 with my upgrade being 0g just because I didn’t care or need to upgrade my tavern. Same works for Varden’s Twice as Nice because even if you freeze the whole tavern, if it has less minions than it should, the addition of the new minions triggers the tavern refresh mechanic. So you’re at T4 and Faceless’d a tavern minion into a 6* then buy everything around it and freeze the board and the 6* hits twice as nice and you only buy 1 of them every turn.
I rambled off topic but I’d rather the post be about Tavish needing a buff than just another begging for nerfs post.

Huh. I keep overlooking faceless disciple, but you bring up a good point about turning higher tier trash buddys into something potentially useful. I also forget so often that you can use it on the shop, not just your own friendlies.
And, look, tavish is fine. His hero power carrys his early game, and slowly stops being relevant after the mid game. Its a combat only buff for his buddy so unless you’re running Tarecgosas next to his buddy, you’re safe to just get rid of it in favor of a stronger minion.

It would be fine if it gave the stat buff even when you hit a shield. Went up against a fully shielded George Murloc team and the buddy and hero power was worthless. It’s not that they need to be overtuned or have loopholes but building your board around the heroes play style makes it hard to toss it all out just to counter 1 person.
It’s easily ghoulable but it won’t take effect for the buddy to be useful. Even if I trash the buddy I’m still sitting around with a gimp hero power next to a shielded poison frog bang party behind a homeless shelter.
Bgs are such a crazy fest rn: Everyone’s got their pet peeves… I can’t stand hero’s that make my board a mess
… onyxia jailer even sneed … etc makes me stab myself sometimes.

I have had my fair share of horrible heroes to play but i didnt mind it that much thus far. Most of them at least have something interesting to try. Even if its orders of magnitude weaker then the better heroes.
Tavish however i have managed to avoid thus far. This hero is so bad and unimaginative that you cant even find fun in playing a bad hero because it at least has something interesting. Which albeit isnt working, but still fun to try make it work.
Tavish has none of this. He is both bad and un-interesting.
Faceless is interesting. I dont know what to think of this card. You can “abuse” it with millhouse to some extend but besides that the card is not really problematic i think.
Not a huge fan of the card but it doesnt bother me that much either.

Yes!!! With almost no control over how obnoxious the catastrophe is when it happens. Putricide is just as bad. He can be unstoppable in a crazy amount of ways but as soon as that random board nuke hits from his buddy it’s GG.
I think it bothers me as much as it does because I love it and take almost every chance I get to overuse it. Scabbs or Tess hitting Ambassador Faelin and the cards suck? Faceless that thing to a 6*. Need to sell your Patient Scout and you get dumped on? Faceless that thing and cry more because if the RNG isn’t hitting right it’s gonna hit worse when you start scamming.
Jandice and Brann can do some especially scammy things with them too. Since Brann goes up twice you only have to hit 4*s, while Jandice can keep flipping the Faceless back to the tavern and buying it again. The latter will probably end up with you flipping to the minion you’re upgrading but worse things could happen.
The buddies reintroduced multiple layers of new ways to BG, but 90% of them involve scams that will almost certainly enrage your entire BG if they hit right.
