Tavern Brawl will not give me craft deck option

I am trying to play Tavern Brawl and all of my opponents have their own MAXED OUT deck. I cannot even get the option to make my own deck and I can’t compete with a stock class deck. Am I missing something or is this just a serious bug for me?

Everyone is playing with the same decks in this week’s tavern brawl. There isn’t any way to build a deck

These are the decks, pulled from a Reddit post:

  • Death Knight – A 2x Blood, 1x Unholy deck that focuses on Corpse mechanics and healing. Featuring Maw and Paw, and the new Headless Horseman hero card.

  • Demon Hunter – A Dormant/Demon deck featuring Going Down Swinging and Gnomelia SAFE Pilot.

  • Druid – A spells and Spell Damage deck featuring Bloodmage Thalnos, Owlonious, Alexstraza (OG edition) and Malygos the Spellweaver (not the OG edition).

  • Hunter – Fairly bog-standard Beasts deck, featuring Mister Mukla and King Plush.

  • Mage – An “oops, all spells” deck featuring The Galaxy Projection Orb.

  • Paladin – An Aura spell and Divine Shield deck, featuring Toy Captain Tarim, Amicus the Peacekepper and Joymancer Jepetto.

  • Priest – Dragon Priest deck featuring Pip the Potent, Timewinder Zarimi, and Amon’thul… plus 2x Crimson Clergy, which is odd because I thought that card rotated out of Standard

  • Rogue – Pirate Rogue deck featuring Velarok Windblade, Sonya Waterdancer, Leeroy Jenkins, Shoplifter Goldbeard and also VO7TR0N Prime.

  • Shaman – “Casino Shaman” deck featuring Golganneth the Thunderer, Shudderblock, Joymancer Jepetto, and Yogg-Saron Unleashed.

  • Warlock – Big/Demon-lock deck featuring Game Master Nemsy.

  • Warrior – Mech Warrior deck featuring Inventor Boom and Botface.

Thanks for that. I was just curious because every opponent I played had a custom portrait as well and the decks seemed way overpowered compared to what I was using. I still think something is off.

You may have been choosing a class that isn’t really as good. Mage is probably bad. The Druid deck seems pretty good to me and definitely could appear to be overpowered if you aren’t expecting the burst with locations, Owlonius and doubled spell damage

I’ll give it a go with another class. I usually use DK.

You can have a custom portrait in the Tavern Brawl by selecting 1 or several skins as favorites in your hero skin collection. Those portraits will then be used during the game.

Ah ha. I am still very new. Only started playing this week. Lots to learn.

Each week, Tavern Brawl is different.

For some of them, you make your own deck.

For others, the game provides you a random deck or lets you choose from a list.

This week it is the second option.

Thanks. I just lost every match today though. I guess this is a pay to win game. I was silver 2 and now I am at 4.
