Summoning Titans Doesn’t Make Sense 2.0

A week ago, I made a post about how summoning Sargeras from your deck results in his abilities being useless, where you could choose an ability but nothing happens. Since then, I’ve understood it prevents the card being overpowered.

However, I just now discovered from a match where I saw a priest summon Aman’thul from their deck and they managed to not only choose an ability but also their random legendary. When the priest resurrected a new Aman’thul, the abilities were still chosen and it’s effect worked.

How is it that one Titan summoned from a deck doesn’t have its abilities work, but another Titan does via both summoning and resurrection? Abilities should only activate if the Titan is played out of one’s hand. Not the other way around.

this is because card text is different. Have you tried reading at all?

No s***, Sherlock. I know the text is different. You’re missing the point on the OP side of it.

Portal can not be destroyed and it summons infinite minions. Many classes can not kill 3/4 taunts every turn. There are ways to kill other titans.

Other ways, yes, but it doesn’t make sense that a summoned priest titan can use all three abilities when Titans are meant to be played out of hand.

Nothing we say is going to make you understand

Three reasons why Sargeras making a portal whenever it’s summoned is a bad idea and doesn’t make sense mechanically 1: If Sargeras summoned a portal every time it was summoned it would be cheated out turn 4 or 5 for infinite value/ 2: I would make reverberations overpowered, as you could get twice as many portals and give all the summons +2 health and taunt, destroying almost all matchups./ 3: Aman’Thul gets discovers a legendary after you use an ability, so it makes sense that it would work, while Battlecry Titans don’t get their Battlecry.

Because one requires its Battlecry to go off and the other doesn’t. The Hunter Titan is even more interesting: if it is summoned then the Battlecry does not go off, so you get no weapon, and hence the abilities won’t work. But equip any other waepon, and now you can use the abilities again.

This is the bug report forum. Complaints about balance are better suited for the other forums.

Perhaps due to my forum profile, it gave an assumed impression.

The Warlock Titan needs that battlecry to prevent it being broken. I was more in-line with Priest’s Titan having a battlecry so none of its OP abilities can constantly be used.

Anyway. I thought this would categorize under the Bug Report section. Since it’s not, further discussion here will be halted.

sargeras is meant to be played from hand …because it has a battlecry it needs for its effect

the rest dont care how are they summoned

So what you’re missing here has nothing to do with balance, but with game mechanics.

Sargeras’s abilities are all tied to his BATTLECRY, which can only be proc’d when he’s played from hand. If he’s cheated out any other way, the battlecry does not trigger, therefore the portal never summons, therefore his abilities can never be used.

ANY minion with battlecry cannot trigger their battlecry if they’re cheated out.

There is no rule that a titan can’t use its abilities if it’s not played from hand, so forget about anything related to that. The issue at hand is the keyword: battlecry, which can only be used when played from hand.
