We could have an option to buy hero skins with gold. We currently only have the option to buy hero skins with real money, so f2p players can’t get the alternate heroes.
Someone has to support the game. I will advocate to reduce the price to $5 instead of the normal $10 however.
Unpopular opinion: I actually disagree; hero skins are the one thing that shouldn’t be available for gold.
If blizzard made a hero skin store, selling yhem for $10~ each, maybe a bit less for lesser characters like the Rastakhan champion trolls, that would go a long way.
Some people who pay money want to shoe off the fact they paid money. But those same people dont always want to spend 80 for preorder heroes or more for all gold decks.
There needs to be some optional cosmetic difference between f2p and not. And hero skins are perfect for that.
Edit: Blizzard, I’d gladly pay $10 for I’ll fight fair. This time. Promiiiiiiiiise

F2P players can get Liadrin, Morgl, and Nemsy with a bit of effort, so that’s not entirely accurate.
Yeah, those heroes are free. Arthas is free too. I forgot to say I was referring to the heroes that need to be purchased, Medivh, Magni, Alleria. Sorry about that.
Or you could supportthegame a little and stick your hand in your pocket?
To be fair, if you spend gold on cosmetics, you won’t be able to buy packs. A f2p player really needs to be spending all their gold on packs to keep up. Even if it was an option, it wouldn’t be a smart one.
For Blizzard, it would end up profitable, since the f2p player would likely be pushed into buying a pre-order or a bundle to catch up again.
