Stuck at silver 5

Hello. I play hs for two months, so i dont own much cards. Im mostly playing pirate warr, or agro warr ( tried netdecks so i know im not losing cos of bad deck conposition- i have had 20/30 of cards, another i filled so the are alike as in netdeck). I struggle to get higher as silver 5. Im facing in 70% of games control priest. Every game they pull many legendary and epic cards, that is impossible for me win…
Should i play another archtype, or its just lack of good cards? Or lack of game sense?
Is aiming higher then silver5 too much for me?
I think i know how to play, ive learned basics about controlling, mana usage, tempo from guides. In arena i can play 4-7 wins, with my game knowledge, without arena helper.
Thx for advice

If you post your decklist or even a replay we could probably provide some better feedback, but i don’t think aggro warrior does very well against priest

Sometimes lower ranks are filled with control priests. You’ll need to find a deck that can beat them consistently.
Honestly, I just play decks recommended by Vicious Syndicate and Tempo Storm. Maybe check out their decklists and try one out:
https://www.vicioussyndicate.com/vs-data-reaper-report-190/
https://tempostorm.com/hearthstone/meta-snapshot/standard
However, since there will be a rotation very soon, make sure you don’t try to build a deck that has many cards that will soon leave Standard.
Aggro pirate warrior is not even considered to be among the game’s good decks, just so you know. If you’re interested, it is quite good in Wild but you’ll need to craft the cards to make it work:

Welcome to Hearthstone.

Here’s what I am running. I got this all the way to D3, other people are running it in Legend. And I will make a few points for you. Don’t craft anything, it’s too close to rotation.

  1. You should be running Gan’arg to get a cheap weapon, and you absolutely should be running Upgrade to better capitalize on the weapons you are running, so also run Dread Corsair for cheap tempo with your weapons. And maybe Steel Dancer if you have it.

  2. Frightened Flunky and Vicious Scraphound are giving you value and health. You need to be able to push tempo and finish off your opponent instead of the health and value gains.

  3. Bloodboil Brute and Rampage go with Risky Skipper and Bloodsworn Mercenary because you can activate them easily. I am running an ETC Rush package instead. You need something cohesive to fill it out. Maybe Southseas Captain, Barge, and a few more Pirates. It’s tough on a budget, and really tough so close to rotation, so don’t stress too much.

Never let a the fact you don’t own lots of cards matter, you can specialize in 1 class and get out the low ranks - So don’t stress too much. Now for your deck - your saying your running Agro or Pirate Warrior deck, and you have 20 of the 30 cards for most ‘meta’ decks , but the thing is while your running a bare bone package the reason the Meta deck are like they are is cause how they work together. So while it seems your only missing 10 cards, those 10 cards are nearly as vital for most those combo - And after Looking at ur deck I would assume your talking about Enrange warrior which Risky Skipper is pretty Vital for all the standard Warrior decks at this moment.

What I would Argue on Marc is where he say don’t craft anything due to being close to rotation - if you feel like you might be trying Wild - it won’t hurt to craft card or 2 that cheap on dust as long your not going dust it later. (This is know as people who dust cards that go to wild and only have Standard collection this is bad investment with dust).

Did you skip the New player levle 50 ranks or did your do all the ranks up to silver is my next question, cause if you skipped those rank you kinda hurt yourself as that was tons of free packs and you shoulda got the new player deck also and work off that deck from which ever class you picked (hopefully 1 you liked).

Also If you haven’t yet, and you have some spare gold (atleast 1k to get legendary from each expac that will still be in standard for other year you might wanna buy 1 pack at a time for 100 gold til you get legendary then go to the next, this can open up your card pool abit more.

It’s abit of both. And you can use really Any class or Archtype to get out of silver really - Gold and Plat is when Good Card/Deck building is highly needed. And Diamond and higher is where you have more advance and complex stuff can be done unless it’s Heavy Agro Deck then you just need know how to use your tool to keep hitting face without running out of fuel before they become stable.

Never say am I aiming too high, you should be saying “Do I belong in silver” and the General answer should be Not really you just don’t have a collection and still learning as 2 month is still very bare to understand so many card and interaction when you don’t own that many card to test or experience higher level of play.

Guides don’t help you in complex scenarios - I would say If you have yet, play some of the Adventure like the kobold and catacombs/witchwood/Ratakha Rumble as those are free (if you can’t see them in solo adventure you can claim them free in the bnet client then they’ll appear). And they can help you learn and build decks without owning cards as they are build as you go w/ random buckets.

I would say Boomsday is a puzzle solver and if you don’t use online guide on how to solve them it can show how much understand you have on setups with limit resources but they’re always done the same way for X result.

Arena Help only give cards win-rate pick for class, generally cards that are just good by themselves are more ideal for Arena without needing to worry about Combo Synergy which is seen in normal deck building deck with your cards.

But you should never craft cards for standard and expect it to be good in wild, there’s over 5000 cards now and only about 10% of the collection is playable. Crafting cards from the sets that aren’t rotating is still plenty fine though as you can still use them for a year.

I mean hell a lot of wild decks only have a spattering of wild cards at times. Secret mage, for example has about only maybe 4 cards(8 since they use 2) that are not standard cards. I love the people who think they need Dr Boom’s original card to be viable in wild still.

The fact you think it limits only to Standard and Wild, and not Duels/Brawls then you are missing the power some cards have in sets and some cards like Risky is most likely going be in many of the Warrior decks down the road just cause it’s 1/3 can clear board w/ draw engine enrage and such a good card in general.

I said cheap costing cards so Uncommon and rares, 50/100 dust cheap cards to craft at most and if you need spend 250 dust to make a strong deck to just use a deck that’ll boost right out of silver, then there no harm as you’ll get your dust worth back at the month reset rewards in cards/packs of the newer set.

Right at this very moment warrior is one of the weaker wild classes, you would be banking that by the time warrior has become stronger again if it does, that risky skipper hasn’t been power crept. Not to say you can’t play odd warrior. I made a budget version of odd warrior without the old boomsday hero power card and it was specifically used to counter an influx of odd paladin that I was seeing while trying to level up warrior for more golden basic cards.

Fair to point out that this guy also doesn’t own Baku.

Again ifthey like playing Warrior - and if they wish to makethe most of the Enrange package, getting risk would only help them do the current deck and like I said if you spend lets say 800 dust to get to get to gold 5 - they basically got their dust profit back w/ new pack after reset and cards - it’s up to them if they wanna wait for totation or if they need spend a little dust to make the strongest deck that can climb out with decent cards and I would say focus on crafting vital cards - but in the end it’s up to them and just denying them from card for other 2 weeks can be from them dropping the game completely vs enjoying their 2 week til rotation on the 30th.

If they wish to play Standard and make a Meta deck it best to tell them craft things cheap if it’ll rotate soon , or cards that will be in standard for other year IE Ashes of outland, Scholar, and Darkmoon - and if they haven’t got their 1 legendary i nthe 1-10 packs yet they can do that IF they want to keep playing now and not wait.

There no reason to bar them off as they should know how much dust they’re getting and gold and etc to say if they shouldn’t do it. We don’t know their collection if they bought the mini set or got some those card from packs.

I find it better investment ti spend some dust to make a viable deck and climb ranks and get new card and pack out weight the dust spent for small boost to a solid deck for class they enjoy.

If they like Warrior don’t force them off to a other class. Let them enjoy their class they aren’t stressing over their class being weak and there tons of people who can play “weak class” to higher ranks with good card and skill. We can’t say they’re bad player cause their pool of card is small and they making what they have work and they’re asking for help.

When they ask for help you give them options - don’t make their experience worst til rotation, tell them the risk and reward and let them judge for themselves if the reward out weight the minor cost of dust.

They could be a other Agro Rogue, shamen or druid - but might hate agro gameplay - so it’s best to cater to what will suit them best and trust they can say what is best for them and what would be their best time/gold/dust invest for their own style of gameplay.

You can’t craft Skipper. It’s part of GA.

That’s a huge commitment to Wild to spend all that gold in GA.

And Wild deck lists shift all the time. My October Legend Odd Rogue list is very different from my February Legend Odd Rogue list.

It’s not safe to craft for Wild, for a brand new player who doesn’t have Patches, Loatheb, Baku, Reno, etc. And it’s absolutely not safe going into a new expansion.

And telling them your deck full of legendary like Capt’n Green skin, ETC God, and Isn’t? They will either have to spend more gold on pack to hope to get lucky on that vs getting to too chapter 3 for 2100 gold? or they just spend 20$

That’s better then digging for random pack’s for cards - sure you can say they could get lucky vs that 21 packs open for the cards in the adventure, but your so focus on 1 option I gave them.

So LET ME BE CLEAR - THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT AND I OFFER THEM OTHER STUFF TO DO LIKE THE FREE SOLO ADVENTURES.

I offer them more then 1 way to keep playing - they could be stuck on Adventure’s like some people for week of 2 before they complete all of it if they struggle. If they struggle with these bosses it can be argue it’s good training for them as most people who still can’t do these and find them too hard are the same people who are really bad at hearthstone and are the Bronze/Silver Stuck players who lack game awareness.

I offer options - We don’t know this person - so we can’t say the GA is waste - then just needing to spend a few dust for a solid budget Enrange warrior - vs ur more $$ needing legendary. They been playing about 2 months. So it’s safe to assume they have not a huge classic collection and if they’re running Arena they’re hitting break even on gold return to go unlimited in Arena which is why they mention the 4-7 on avg runs.

We don’t know even if they bought the Mini-set. So While to a Vet is seems like a waste -it’s not. and Even if they want to play the Adventure later and don’t want to spend money on it, buying the 1st chapter with gold will let them spend gold on it later in wild and do the adventure and get cards later rather then having to craft them if they have a surplus of gold.

I regret not buying adventures when I was on and off the game cause I said “Oh I can craft all these cards later when they hit wild” but that turn out to be more annoying to craft all the card vs just doing the adventure to have the cards later down the road.

So don’t say what best for them - let them say what best for them and let them enjoy the game HOW THEY WANT - give them the options, YES you can’t craft Risky til wild, BUT saying it’s waste to buy the adventure even this late to make a more viable deck vs RNG Pack opening and crafting cards like Greenskin THAT LEGENDARY and going wild is any better.

When reading my posts, start in the first paragraph. You know, the one that says not to craft anything.

Odd ar they’re going have to craft to make a decent deck - if they want a good deck this far - and LOOK WHAT I SAID.

They are better off learning vital crafting cards - your the 1 saying “here my deck” you give them options to ur deck ,yes but that isn’t Budget friendly copy and paste deck for them - what better telling them what are Vital cards OR teach them the important how cards need to be good alone or need other cards to be good.

If you wish to be as “Noob friendly” You give them as cheap possible deck then give them cards that can be upgraded/swap to better cards. Not a very top tier deck and then say “if u don’t have X u can downgrade” - That why I give them the option IF they wanted to do the Enrage Warrior they have to get Risky for it’s board clear power/armor combo def if they wish to use the strongest netdecks of warrior they will need Risky and spend lil gold/money even this late.

I say return investment if they need craft a few cheap cards to climb , go for it. End of the reward of rank will basically pay for itself.

If they wish to take break from standard rank they can do Adventures for awhile while still doing their daily quest and etc to see how much game awareness cause they did say.

They should know what style deck they will like - It’s why they might not being Agro deck that are cheap. But if they Do wish to follow someone else and do Agro Deck like Shadow rogue and need craft a few of the cheap cards - then they shouldn’t be scare of the “Don’t craft anything rule” - cause you will make them scare of crafting anything til rotation and might hate the game for the next 2 weeks.

As a new player going into a rotation I crafted nothing for months.

I am giving advice based on my experience. A few of weeks is nothing compared to the patience I followed.

And in the meantime I absolutely used full meta decks as the basis for my budget decks during that time.

just consider the options for a second:

  1. your argument that they will hate the game for 2 weeks because they didnt craft cards that rotate to wild in 2 weeks.
  2. them investing all dust they have into crafting cards that then rotate in 2 weeks. they are now out of dust and the cards they crafted on your advice is no longer playable in standard
1 Like

It is possible considering they might want to play now and not wait for 2 weeks.

Where do I say spend all their dust? I clearly said AND I QOUTE AGAIN

Where inthe bloody hell am I telling someone to SPEND ALL THEIR DUST - I said only CRAFT CHEAP CARD and make it a limit of like 250 dust. - 250 dust is about on Avg the dust they’re getting for silver end of the month already - SO if anything I told them SAFE CARD SET TO CRAFT - and to keep it CHEAP.

Maybe Y’all need read properly and stop seeing only the few words YOU think you see and read the whole statement.

I clearly TOLD them all the options if they wish to have a viable Enrage Warrior Deck THEY will need Risky due to it high impact it has for enrange deck in general. If they wish to explore other Archetype they need to know 1 of the 3 styles they perf to give them deck that are around that play style IE Agro,Mid-range or Control. They clearly hate vsin’ control Priest - and they arne’t running Shadow Rogue which is very cheap and 1 the top tier deck if they already netdeck so WE can’t say anything but the fact they doing Pirate/Enrange Warrior from their statement and deck shown.

Now if you wish to keep using words out of context go ahead cause your only showing how narrow minded you are. I clearly told them cards from set that are in for other year and if they need craft a card or 2 that’ll go wild MAKE SURE IT CHEAP. That is legit advice to let them PLAY HOW THEY WANT.
