I keep trying to get the stupid achievement for free golden Elwynn Boars but every time I’m about to kill the enemy hero with the sword they concede before I can land the killing blow, denying me the achievement.

i know that pain. i was happy when a kind opponent let me finish em off a while ago.
i wonder if you can get the achievement in a fight VS someone on your friend list
Unfortunately not. Friendly battles don’t count towards achievements.
The obnoxiously long xyrella animation where she reequips the sword 7 times certainly doesnt help with having your opponent NOT concede
Use boar hunter it is esay to kill them with the weapon in that class. I have done it several times.
Play a Priest deck and expect people to auto concede. Nobody wants to play against a Priest deck. It just is not fun.

I think people just want to get on with their next game tbh. Most are not going to stick around once they’re dead, unfortunately.

The fact is that once I am at 1 mana there is no point in continuing playing the game.
Try to get the sword and swing with it only for lethal
The problem is that this deck gets very little chip damage and in fact a lot of your healing heals the enemy hero too
I always let my opponent kill me with the sword just in case they need the achievement.
The grind to rank up can be irritating based on the decks you get matched up against. However, why would someone want to stick around and let their opponent destroy them with a meme deck that doesn’t let you counter your opponent when they manage to pull off the combo. Good players know when to cut their losses and move on to the next match.

you mean fortunately ? otherwise the achievements would be a complete joke.
just queue up against a friend and let them do whatever they need, not much of an achievement.

I sort of agree, but there are some achievements that are pretty absurd and I think if you just set it up with a friend and pull it off, it should count because you put in the work to figure it out. This isn’t the case with all achievements (like win a battle x times, etc)
For example, the Spammy Arcanist one. If you think about how to do it and set it up with a friend and get it to go off, you’ve done enough to earn the achievement imo.
But I do understand why friend battles don’t work. There are people out there, like yourself, that want the achievements to be pure. I can respect the decision to not have friendly battles work.

Nope, I disagree.
Just because an achievement is difficult that doesn’t mean it should be doable against a friend.
There are some easy and consistent ways to get the spammy arcanist achievement. The only one that’s near impossible is the yogg one.

Yeah, I’m agreeing with you more now that I think about it.
But yeah, SOME of the achievements are a bit crazy and I don’t see how anyone can do them in a normal game.
Speaking of which, a few days ago I hit the achievement of “Discover 10,000 cards” and I can’t find the name of the achievement anywhere. Do you know what it’s called?
Also…discover 10,000 cards seems ridiculous. I can’t believe I completed that. That’s an insane amount of games needed to do that. I saw that achievement and I felt like my life was wasted lol

also just FYI I’ve done every single gameplay achievement except a few in the general gameplay section which puts me at 98% gameplay.
so there’s no excuse it’s definitely possible to do them all.

I clicked the achievement too fast and missed the name. Then I could not find it in the achievement screen and a google search didn’t show anything. So thanks for the name.

Yeah I 100% don’t pay ANY attention to achievements in ANY game I ever play. I don’t care unless the achievement gives me something special that I want. So I’m completely ignorant to that sort of thing lol. I knew you were the right person to ask
