Still not a single meta control deck in sight

The best deck for every single class is aggro or turn 7-8 otk.
Not a single meta deck is trying to reach turn 10.
Not a single meta deck is playing a card costing 9 or 10 they can cheat in play.
Cards costing 5+ mana are barely played unless they’re busted by themselves like Marrowgar, Jace Darkweaver, Hydralodon, Countess, Rafaam, etc.

There won’t be until rotation maybe. Maybe Plaguespreader priest makes a comeback.

Concoctions, DH, control druid, mine warlock, what the hell control deck can compete when aggro, combo and midrange have as much value generation as they do?

They need to make it where people only play 1 cost cards.

Blood DK?

They almost never were. For 9-10 mana cards at their full cost to be played the meta had to be REMARKABLY slow. Heavy cards are played most when they can be cheated

Ya want people to play weak and costly cards?

VS has Control Paladin (non Dragon) at Tier 2, at Top 1K Legend.

They’re saying too many people outside of that are running Reno builds and dragging the win rate down.

Control paladin might be the only one that can do it simply because of cariel. The half damage is a major advantage.

Without that, other control decks are doomed. None of them can compete with curse warlock reigning Supreme.

Thread title reminds me of the part of A Good Day where Ice Cube be like “Had to stop, at a red light, lookin’ in my mirror, not a jacker in sight”

Nobody trying to reach turn 10? Good, good.

This meta is alright. Sure control is in a bad state but the aggressive decks aren’t super all in and the board centric gameplay is quite refreshing. I’m sure mini set will give Blood DK a colossal that completely turns the tables so everyone can complain about that instead.

Curse Warlock isn’t reigning supreme. It’s just over 2% all Ranks, not much different at any particular Rank.

Let’s stop the hyperbole.

I’m not talking about play rate, I’m talking about power.

Curse warlock destroys any deck that has any slow strategy. Ramp druid, control Warrior, control priest, mage, blood dk, etc etc etc. It’s a hard stop problem for any of those decks.

Thus, control decks don’t stand much of a chance of existing in this meta. And as soon as cariel rotates, that win rate for paladin will be even larger.

I think it’s really important to note that Fiendish Circle will likely rotate out of the core set as well, along with a number of other changes they could make to effectively neuter the Imp package. Curse Warlock without Imps isn’t nearly as threatening as they don’t get the same level of refill and can’t pressure you to play cards with aggressive boards so denying huge burst with curses is pretty straightforward. I don’t foresee Imp/Curse being a problem after rotation unless they just completely forget to consider it.

last night, a mine lock did about 60 damage to me that’s with Cariel Hero is online. You can control the board, but you can’t control all those face damages
