START OVER - Try Again Dungeon style

To add something to this page I figured I’d express my frustration with the dungeons.

Clearing X monsters and losing, only to be sent back to the start is NOT FUN.

I’m old school and this reminds me of early video games where you couldn’t save your progress.

Ill never forget when they added a BATTERY to the Legend of Zelda NES Cartridge so you could save your progress. I was like “GLORY TO NINTENDO!!”

No one likes dying and having to start over in any video game! How do you guys not know this?

I’m not saying to give me unlimited tries like Puzzle lab, but how about THREE tries like old school stand up video games!

I’ve put enough quarters into this game to deserve this feature :sunglasses:

Because the runs are relatively short, I don’t have an issue with the ironman dynamic. However, given that there are essentially zero rewards, having some number of “lives” wouldn’t cause much disruption and would likely let more players experience all the content. There could be a practice mode where you have unlimited lives, but no rewards or achievement, then regular mode like now, and even a heroic mode where there are actual rewards like the old adventures. We might be seeing something along these lines with the YOTD solo content.

I just don’t have that kind of time lol. I don’t want anything handed to me, but I would like to earn the cardback with some relative ease.

Completing it will all classes? Seriously?

When RNG is usually the factor?

RNG also in the sense of, if I get X boss here and Y boss there and choose A reward and B reward and “the stars align” and I do this NINE TIMES to get a card back?

I don’t disagree. Some of the classes have a really hard time with some of the bosses, particularly at the end. For just a cardback reward, it should be easier. For the original Dungeon Run, priest took me over 100 attempts. I still see the issue as being mostly about rewards vs difficulty, which is always a tough balance in games and the equation has to be built for the median player. If its too easy, the journey and reward lose value. If its too hard, no one will experience the content.

The original dungeon run, warrior took me 1700 monsters beaten to finish the run once.
My fastest was shaman or priest with 430.
Toki took me around 13,000 to beat it once.

However, I beat the Rumble run on my first try with priest lol.

I completely and utterly gave up on solo content. After over 100 attempts with Priest on Dungeon, I completely lost interest.

I tried Monster Hunt and lost to Toki only to have to start ALL over - nope.

Rumble run? I did not bother trying. Did it once for quests and that was all.

New solo content? Probably won’t even bother. At this point, I’d be happy if they just stopped trying solo content altogether and printed a balanced standard format…instead of having to retire cards a full year early!!!

(Baku/Genn need to go but this shouldn’t have happened in the first place)

Since the meta sucks so bad currently and I dread the journey through March to get to the April expansion, I decided to mess w/ thr Rumble Run.

1st off, it’s awesome. NGL. I love the cards the shrines and the interactions.

I got to the second to the last boss and got owned. (don’t tell me Blizzard can’t detect how well your doing and just put it’s foot on your neck like the flip of a switch, but I digress)

So I lost second to the last boss after a good 40 minutes of RL time… I was like, no way I’m gonna sit here for another 40 minutes and get owned by RNG (it’s obviously RNG because my “skill” took me to almost the end)

I immediately said to myself “This repetitive garbage is not fun. I do not feel like starting ALL THE WAY BACK AT THE BEGINNING”

Like was stated above. Just like all other video games that have a waypoint/check point/save point, this should have it too. Has Blizzard never played other video games? Save points Blizzard, lol. They keep people from throwing their controllers through walls and continuing to buy your products! (how do you not know this?)

So… Just like Monster Hunt and Dungeon Run, Rumble Run will remain uncompleted and covered with dust and I will “go without” the 3 card backs (wow, what a loss!! lol, srsly Blizz, do you think that’s a good carrot? SMH)

You can keep your single player garbage.

As someone who never imagined clearing all those dungeon-run-esque f2p adventures I can tell you that clearing them all in a short time is a terrible idea. What you should actually do is play 1-2 runs per day and then call it quits. Sadly some runs end before game no. 2-3 because of how aweful your choices were and sometimes you just can’t loose because what they offered you just breaks the mode altogether. After finishing the whole thing, I have to say that I were more entertained than actually frustrated (especially with Dungeon Run). You can tell that they actually put some real effort into the whole thing and added some huge variety. The mode I hate the most is Monster Hunt because of how op some of the bosses are and how unbeatable some of them can be for certain types of decks that they offer you.

I started with just a couple runs a day but eventually gave up because I’d rather earn gold than nothing at all.

I’d say that the singleplayer content can be really difficult. Not because of how well the a.i. plays (it really doesn’t) but because if any mode needs knowledge of cards and deckbuilding, it’s this one. The whole mode evolves around the idea how crazy op cards (relics/treasures) would impact your playstyle against non-players which I personally like a lot. I’d advice you to give the mode a chance when you played for longer but if you don’t have any fun, you really shouldn’t waste your time there.

I have over a hundred attempts on Priest. That means I don’t have 1 in a hundred chances of winning.

I’d call that a serious waste of time.

Priest was one of the last classes I couldn’t do.
I finally did it by building a totally broken Cathun Deck with 3 Cathuns and double battlecry passive.
