I think I’m done with laddering.
Team 5 has seen fit to turn a ten mana game into a
busted mess where Shamans can play a ten mana card on turn four.
Where Warriors can deal half your life or more in passive damage.
Where Rogues just wait for their deck to kill you. They do nothing.
Where Hunters play nothing, just rip your face off.
I could go on and on.
This product is terrible now, and I cannot believe that players are willing to keep throwing money at it.
Team 5 will never do anything different because they don’t have to.
The loyalists will continue to empty theirs and their parents’ wallets
for a company that could not care less about them.
I seriously hope that players wake up and shut off the money spigot.
Unless we get new leadership at team 5 the game will continue to be nothing but power creep.
I truly pray that Morhaime is working on a direct competitor for this
product.
Team 5 has real nerve calling this an Esport.

People said I was mad for playing priest for a month, why not try a new one? There’s 10 classes waiting even if you dusted all non class collections. If you want all the advantages of a class, you can just switch to it. Every class takes turns and secret mage was top climbing tier foe years. This is about the only expac secret mage hasn’t been a constant t1 deck in wild. Frankly after years I’m fine not playing the deck just for fatigue and variety.
I’m not sure what you are talking about. I was speaking about Standard.
I still have fun climbing to Legend every season my last with Big Spell Mage was a blast.
Next expansion is looking interesting to me as well i dont see myself stopping ladder any time soon.

welcome to casual, where the players play the deck, not the other way around!

Well you missed out on like three years or more of nonstop.secret. mage in wild. Being more versatile when your decks are forced to adapt isn’t a bad thing. I’ve gone through a quest shaman, dr dh, and ele shaman and pirate warrior just this season alone. About four decks, while scrapping a day 1 10-20k dust raza to rest and moving on. I’ve lost or obsoleted 2-3 decks while it’s only been 1 for mage, all f2p, working with my f2p pack opens for collection.
I’m still not sure what you are talking about. I have played Wild Secret mage for years. (This is the artist formerly known as mallenroh)
This post is about Standard.
I have no complaints about Wild because Wild is supposed to be broken.
Oh I get it. You’re always so mad because you take the game way too seriously. That makes sense. There are too many possible high rolls right now to even think about taking the game seriously unless you’re trying to go pro which I doubt is your goal.
Getting to legend or D5 is not a meaningful indicator of skill so I would not recommend anyone take ladder seriously. It is just some extra free stuff every month and definitely not worth your mental health.

What are you talking about?
I am afraid I don’t understand anything you are trying to impart.
I will edit the header to make it clear that I dislike Standard ladder.
Perhaps that will help.
Oh I was just saying I’m glad you realized that it isn’t worth your time and I hope you acting on that makes you happier even if only a little bit. You’re always so upset in your posts.

I am less upset than I am tired of a company that bleeds it’s playerbase and gives nothing in return.
They are constantly chasing new customers and they have no interest in existing ones.
They do not listen to the player base and they do not care.
Standard ladder is as busted as wild is these days.
I see no logic in that at all.

It happens and will more than likely trend back down eventually. It will just take a while. MTG had a similar issue starting around the release of War of the Spark where for that set and several after the powerlevel of Standard just kept rising and rising to the point that new cards like Teferi, Time Raveler and Oko, Thief of Crowns and Uro and Lurrus defined not only standard but eternal formats all the way back to the oldest and most powerful formats like Vintage and Legacy which is not unlike what Hearthstone is going through right now.
That said MTG is different in that cards go to print and not just a digital release so it takes them longer to course correct, but things in Hearthstone are still designed and approved well in advance and it takes equally as long to course correct while things rotate out.
Or maybe they won’t. I can’t see the future but I can draw parallels to other TCG/CCG that have experienced similar issues.

It’s difficult to believe anyone finds this product worth paying for these days.

The Problem is not Team five. it is the lead dev
“Team plays badly - hm, fire the coach!”
Every. Freaking.Game.
And Mallenshroud is back to his old self.

“Standard Ladder isn’t worth my time.”
Then, don’t play.
Problem solved.

Wow. That is such sage advice. How has the World managed without your wisdom?

Remember kids, don’t dust your entire collection to play one class if everyone gets nerfed every few months to give every class a chance and you won’t have to worry about maining a class you declare to hate every deck of, but play everyday.
- signed a 10-20k dust wild priest forced to play pirate warrior for sustainable f2p dust.
I can play other classes. I play Hunter pretty often these days.
I just won’t be doing it in ladder anymore because the rewards
aren’t worth the trouble.
I see the Star system as a punitive system of diminishing returns.
I think the matching is more scripted than an episode of Ozark.
And; the Standard cards are so power crept and busted that Wild looks reasonable.
Standard remains a dumpster fire and it appears they’re printing more manure next expansion.
