Stall To Combo Decks: don't hate the player hate the game

I just came back and made a brutal rush deck and am streaking half way through diamond right now. It just proves the current meta is bland stall stall stall till you hit your wombo combo for lethal / OTK. It makes sense that win rates of decks are balanced, it’s mostly decks waiting to get proper rng rolls to get their combo first.

This gameplay style doesn’t make sense to me. It’s practically solitaire, meaning there’s no ingenuity or flexibility or response to your opponents moves – it’s either: (1) just throw out your cards that stall while you draw your combo, or (2) ram enough stats into your opponents face before they get their combo. I don’t blame the players though, these are the decks that make the most sense with the cards that the devs made.

Why do I want to play against someone who is trying to just freeze me out of playing the game until they one shot me?

slow games are fun

agro games are the boring ones

Slow games where stuff is happening is fun. Slow games just stalling and waiting for your combo is not fun.

Thing is, most players are going agro because of stall until OTK decks.

Thing is that most players not even know How to build a decent Control decks unless they’re given 5/10 board clears.

Otherwise many would be too busy winning against aggro instead of whinning about a combo deck here and there. This is lame.

All you see in ranked anymore is agro and these otk wombo combo decks, it’s sad really. Much prefer using something I made myself, which I usually do after hitting Legend

Yup im grinding through right now with a pure aggro deck and on dia-3. I am finally able to bulid my own, mid-range-actually-fun-to-play-the-game, decks because the number of players who just copy and paste mage/priest otk has dropped drastically enough. It’s a weird place in the ladder to be though because there are other people with aggro decks here that are difficult to go against – which makes me want to play mid range, but then the copy-and-paste otk deck still creeps in so I have to be wary about that still.
