Spell mage is dumb

Not want to be THAT person but…

Since no one want to talk about this…

The actual spell mage variant is one of the dumbest things ever created and gives basically 0 player agency to both players.

You basically use manufacturing error and hope to draw lethal with it.

No decisions , no planning ahead, both making the player using it at mercy of simple draw luck but also making no opponent able to really react if the card in fact hits good targets.

If blizzard ever continue to buff this deck into viability the playerbase will miss questline mage days in stormwind.

This is why blizzard should just stop trying to force this deck into the meta by buffing it.
It goes against literally everything they did talk lately about player agency.

Obs: Post made by an mage player.

I appreciate you making this post saying outloud exactly how I feel about this deck.

It’s just not good gameplay.

I doubt you are a mage player, complaining about a class that has a 40% winrate at best. Mage is the worst class in the game but okay. You can’t be serious talking about mage when warrior/hunter is god mode.

I mean, just accept that Mage doesn’t exist for a couple of days more and it’ll be good soon enough

When’s the last time Mage didn’t have a viable deck?

Chill guys, it’ll happen

Look…

There is more important things than balance the game.

Or you really think that i’m gonna have fun when i’m play something that i’m know that what i’m doing has 0 influence on the outcome of a match just because mage got to a acceptable winrate?

If i’m wanted only an average 50% winrate without a meangningfull design i’m would be playing coinflip simulator.

Actually i’m made this post after trying the new spell mage variant with low curve and understanding that even if it was good i’m would still not have fun.

Don’t worry, we know you’re a mage player. Ignore that.

I agree with you completely, as well. It’s antithetical to everything these “adjustments” were supposedly made to do. Moreover, the design is toxic within how Hearthstone functions (and doesn’t).

It’s mind-boggling how there is even 1 person out there playing this disgusting deck.
It has to be the most uninteresting, one game played and dump, why did I craft a legendary for this, deck ever.

I pray to everything the mini-set isn’t spell mage support. They couldn’t make a worse archetype if they tried. A deplorable experience for both players.

It is good for streamers. They can click buttons and clap while reading chat, then upload the clips.

Blizzard isnt forcing anything on the player base, like it or not No Minion Mage is the most played Mage deck since this set launched.

It was the most played deck at 30% win rate and its still the most played deck in the class at 40% win rate.

When more support for it comes and it breaks 50% win rate you can then complain about the deck.

The vast majority of the Mage player base has No Minion Mage as one of the most popular decks in the history of the class.

Correction.

Then we can’t “complain” about it.

Then we can return to 0 and have nothing to play because blizzard buffs stuff that anyone with a brain knows that can’t be viable without tons of complaints.

But obviously i’m somehow the villain for tellling it and expecting something we could actually count on being viable for more than 2 weeks.

And how is that different from any other deck in Mage EVER…
To this day you still have people asking for Sif head even after the Snake Oil nerf.

Lets not pretend Sif isnt 1 class card away from eating a nerf as well, and they tend to pre nerf Mage decks when new support is upcoming.

Im going to make sure to visit this forums when Sit inevitably eats a nerf over the noise the player base makes just to see how you react.

I expect consistency on your takes ,or is it just ok to fearmonger the archetype you dislike???

Spell Mage is basically a glass cannon. Like, how much armor and healing does Spell Mage have?

Bruh mages have it bad enough as is. No need to kick a class while it’s down lol.

Couldn’t it be said that if the most popular mage deck has to suck because of how it plays (or it’d be unhealthy for the game) perhaps mage needs to be looked at as a class?

Spell mage as an idea is great. It’s mage, it casts spells. It summons minions from spells. That’s how it should be.

I don’t care how much balance it takes, they have to make it viable, not bad, not broken. And I trust they will eventually

Mage might be in the gutter but at least it will never be as bad as the company you buy consoles for.

How does it feel frog to see all my predictions for the paperweight you call a console come true one after another?

I played the version that got posted.
I think it’s junk.
You are basically reliant on Yogg in the box most of the time.
Another hail mary joke deck at best.

Glass cannon is great if the deck had enough direct damage to make it a real threat instead of hoping you get the damage from discover garbage.

Was talking of that one in the indicated by VS that day.
