It drops by design at the end of every match, which is a poor design. It should remain active until the player decides to turn it off.
I am not aware of that and I’m not sure that’s happening. (Maybe you were joking and it went right over my head). That said, there are many times where squelch on mobile devices falls off on it’s own. For example, if you lose signal for a brief moment and the game has to reconnect, squelch falls off. If you get a phone call during the match, squelch falls off. Even getting a text can cause squelch to fall off.
If they simply change squelch to work like the other system options (i.e. sound, music, language, resolution, etc.), then these issues go away and they won’t be getting all my chat violation reports.
Phones have aggressive power saving features. The operating system probably drops connections in the background so see if that can be tuned (an easy suspect would be a “power saver” being turned on).
I don’t remember what drops it by design but something does (it might be a Hero card’s battlecry).
It does fall off. Getting in an elevator, going through a tunnel, even just a crappy cell signal. They can all cause brief loss of connection and when you reconnect, the squelch has fallen off.
being obnoxious jackasses in the hope that they will change their abuse of the emotes.
A toggled squelch eliminates all of this. All the frustration. And all the forum posts.
No. It gets applied. Then during the match, if there’s any sort of connectivity break, it falls off. And you have to re-apply it. For someone that can’t stand the emotes, it’s more than frustrating. But I do appreciate that you’ve acknowledged it. Thanks for that.
Maybe so. But I’m never the instigator. And if someone instigates, I’ll respond with escalating force. You hit me in the head with a lead pipe, I’m responding with a revolver.
Blizzard can resolve it all with a very simple improvement to the squelch feature. One that helps those who don’t like the emotes and has no impact whatsoever on everybody else.
The idea of being permanently silenced affects the value i see in premium skins
I want my 60$ Ragnaros to be free to call anyone insect, even the careless one who forgot to activate the squelch option.
And i can know that they have received my message with reactions like yours of burning rope…
I don’t think you understand how it works. You are not silenced. You are free to emote to your heart’s content. All that happens is that the opponent doesn’t see it. You have no idea if you are squelched. There’s no indication whatsoever if your opponent has squelched you or if they are simply ignoring you.
It would help if I knew what device you were using. I had this problem before and a simple reinstall fixed it. My power saver is on and I don’t notice it falling it off or maybe my opponents aren’t obnoxious?
It could be happening if you have an older device.
Hello at the start, seems to be a natural way to determine if there;s a human pilot or not if the hello emotes are exchanged at unconventional times like right as Im hitting my end turn ill be mid hello. Looking into it a bit, sure, but Im content with what I end up feeling from the interaction or lack thereof.
If they do anything exciting or OP, I hit em with the WOW.
If Im lowrolling i just go ahead and well played and concede.
The only other time well played is used is if they left themselves open to a lethal hit from me after I just saw them try everything possible the previous turn to conjure up anything to avoid it. Just before I hit em with the final strike, I give them the well played.
Threaten is only used for spamming against ropers. and I make sure Im roping them back with the threat emote as much as I can til they start to play normal lol. Im sure ive been squelched or autosquelched in those times but after enough rounds of roping them back they tend to get bored of it and move on lol.
Its rare but the oops one gets occasional use like when someone plays their cards out of order so they miss out on their effects. (combo card played first before another thing is played for example).
I miss the old days when people would encase themselves in impervious and harmless bubbles of naivete. I mean, they still encase themselves in impervious bubbles of delusion, but these days, rarely harmless
