Soo, I just died turn 5 from rogue

Are you suggesting that balance matters at any rank other than top 12 Legend?

I sense incoming disapproval from the OP

I mean, and even if it did, rogue could hardly be farther from being a balance problem.

It has drill rogue, which I bet by now with the latest zilly nerf is below 50% even at top legend (only place where it had a positive wr), and just now there is a draw/miracle rogue rising up in play that seems to boast an impressiveā€¦

51%

But yeah guys just nerf Sonya why not :man_shrugging:

Edit: I am actually, as a rogue enjoyer myself, at my wits end trying to find something to have fun playing in this meta while my favorite class sucks and everything else seems boring to me; and now I gotta read now two threads where nerfing rogue is being discussed unironically. I feel like Iā€™m in a weird dream.

You guys still dont get the Blizzard bussiness model ?
Let me make it clear :
Step 1 : Print powercreeping cards / fast combos
Step 2 : Make half of those cards Legendary so they are hard to get.
Step 3 : Create combos that end the game fast ( maybe the frustration doesnā€™t kick in )
Step 4 : Have the players chase the powercreeping cards / decks
Step 5 : Profit
Nothing changed since T5 took over the design. Same crap, different colour.
Also, those high rolls donā€™t just come randomly, incase you didnt notice, they come artificially when the class needs to win.
Also, for those not believing that mulligan / draw / discovers canā€™t be premade / preset ā€¦ well, my grandma can do an If Else function while being in coma and on lifesupport.
Thanks Microsoft for this awesome and amazing meta.

Did it happen two games in a row?

Step 3 (and the latter half of Step 1) feels out of place. Like you irrationally hate combo decks or something.

But the rest of it is accurate

Scrottie, since you keep hounding my posts, ill explain exactly what im talking about but with concepts, and do try to keep up.
Original state is 0, to change the original state there needs to be a 1.
State of 1 = creation
In order to profit, T5 needs to give players a carrot and a stick, the carrot being the powercreep cards, and the stick being the card packs.
That means, people want to win with the decks provided, and the punish aka the stick is buying packs.
Now, the insane difference between Ben Brodeā€™s team and T5 is that Bens team kept the powercreeping at a minimum, and there was no large disparity. The high rolls always existed, but the possibility of getting them was pretty low.
Hereā€™s a justification.
At any given time, lets say there are 1000 players doing Lamplighter Deck. If the win rate of the deck is 60%, that means 600 will win, 400 will lose. Out of those 600, more than 400 are high rolls.
If i take a same win rate deck back from Bens team creation, and there were many with 60%, like Patron Warrior or Miracle Rogue or Malygos Druid ā€¦ the highroll rate was much lower, due to design of the cards.
The problem now is the discovers, because the endgame of decks is reached through multiple ways ā€¦ the T5 design has an insidious flaw, which im not sure that they know about, or if they know than its being ordered from upstairs.
Powercreeping cards are only a part of the problem, the problem is too many connecting dots to reach the goalpost of killing the enemy.
Back in the day there werent so many discovers, so there werent so many ways to kill your opponent ā€¦ the expectations were pretty much met, more or less.
All the forum quitting posts and raging comes from 1 reason, expectations are being built up with powercreep cards, and busted to due to game design, and the outcome can be read on forums.

Now, thats my opinion, im not sure many people can understand it.

No, thank you, once was more than enough

My previous post was mostly compliment. I hearted your previous post. Youā€™re imagining a problem where there isnā€™t. Chill.

Annoying as the gameplay is, itā€™s necessary so long as things like druid ramping up and flooding the board while you sit back and play turn 4 a second time.

Griftah is the best Rogue card of the set xD
Edit:
*Rogue Legendary of the set. Even without that cheese you mentioned its still really powerful and allows you to set up all kinds of cool plays.

Classic blizzard move to put rogue in a position where it has to rely on strong neutrals because they are too scared to make actual rogue cards playable. Just look at cards like keleseth and hench clan thug from the past.

Griftah you can actually play on the board. Feels like 80% of the time I find a moment to play Maestra or Eudora i end up losing 2 turns later because i made such a slow play just trying to get those cards in play

Iā€™m on a brutal highroll streak, going 34-16, having 9-0 against druids and pretty much beating everything

But as usual, as soon as my MMR gets high enough to start playing against ranks 20 and 30, I get unplayable hands, like 5-9-4-3, where Iā€™m afk half of the game

Itā€™s frustrating and itā€™s unfair. If Iā€™m highrolling against people Iā€™m already winning against without it, why canā€™t I keep highrolling against them for a change? Whatā€™s going on here?

Are some people truly born luckier?

I wouldnā€™t mind losing normally, you know, I donā€™t have a problem admitting Iā€™m worse than a rank 20-30.

But I do have a problem with not having a fair chance at all.

EDIT: next game, after losing unfairly to rank 30, I got matched against 210 and continued to highroll, disgustingly

Iā€™m starting to think it IS all rigged xD

you are missing a step

Step 6 : only nerf the commons/rares that enable the powerful legendaries so that F2Ps are even more heavily punished for crafting strong decks.

Itā€™s not that rare, just a good roll on Griftah and youā€™re set.
