Someone please explain

Barrel of sludge, WHY does it go on forever? at zero cost, continuing to be drawn… casts when drawn… I remember back in the day, Rouge had a similar card… I forget the name of it, but it was continuous non stop damage… there was no chance. Might have been by turn 5? it was my first time seeing that particular card

Garrote.

And with similar endless shuffling.

Welcome to the lack of creativity meta. It started when they just changed the flavor text and name of cards slightly, but it’s the same card in a different coat of paint.

Thaddius is the issue.

Free sludge after giving damage to fill your hand and decks, then playing spell damage cards, then going off for otk.

I took 34 damage on turn six in my last game and there was literaly zero way to counter it at all. That sort of play pattern shouldn’t exist in the game.

The spell damage literally says “can’t target heros” and then you use a spell that targets heros.

So stupid and so typical of the bass clowns at blizactisoft.

To answer your question, the card isn’t cast when drawn. What you are probably seeing is the effect of other cards that are popular inclusions in these particular Warlock decks. Barrel of sludge will deal damage when cast, discarded or destroyed.

The cards Steamcleaner, Waste Remover, Fracking and Tome Tampering could each trigger at least two activations of Barrel of Sludge and are all in the most popular list I found on HSReplay. Hope this information helps you.

I don’t have proof but this deck and archetype seems to have been stealth nerfed by Blizzard by increasing the time it takes for one barrel of sludge generation animation to resolve.

It’s likely to fall off the map now.

Looks like we have an ID-10-T here. What would that solve? They kept throwing sludge way after the rope was at the end. Only a fool would come up with a stupid idea to prolongue the animation time.

And in the middle of all things uninteractive and toxic is Thaddius. The BS 10 drop that is never played for 10 mana and enables all the horsecrap. Thaddius should never have been printed.

This is false. There is always a way to counter stuff in this game. It’s called the Almighty Face Punch. If you punch your opponent until he explodes into a crater he is countered and can’t wombo combo OTK you.

Tell me more how you kill people before turn 6 oh wise one.

I’m not entirely certain he’s not referring to anime style punching or fireballing people in real life.

But I advise against that, as using a street fighter type move, or employing kamehameha can result in planetary destruction. And I seriously doubt such a person took the time to collect all seven dragonballs first.

Oh, okay, so we should all play treant druid and the game will be healthy?

I got that feel off that stuff, too.

Seems like a whole lot of excess anger.

Arcane Hunter but realistically “Me go Face” style of deck should never be the sole answer to these types of decks.

Really? How does arcane hunter kill turn 5 and why are there no hunters of any kind anywhere in legend?

People want everything to be a one way street of tech only for them never to be used by the opponent against them. People can’t seem to understand it’s a 2 way street if you want better tech to exist you also have to accept that same tech being used against you. When they tried adding disruptive tech people always freak out wether the card in question is playable or not. So we get relegated back to Face Punch or nothing.

It’s an extremely boring deck to play and once you are in the legend ranks most people care very little about winning and more about just playing what they want for fun. If you are talk about the top 100 players you almost never see those players playing straight aggro decks because they get no joy in playing them for 10+ hours at a time.

Oh and yes it can win by turn 5/6 most of the time. Depends on opening hand JUST like the sludge deck.

I was thinking more about other styles of decks having a chance. Realistically it’s a deck that has a broken “feature” to it in Thaddius. Make the 10 cost card be played for its real cost and the problem of the deck solves itself without tech. Otherwise i would request a tech card that costs 3 and destroys the highest cost minion in my opponents deck and/or hand. Seems about as fair as how the deck is being played.
