The deck is decent in standard, but still lacks in some areas. They probably don’t check these forums but I had two ideas that might improve it.
The major issue is draw. You could have a minion that draws a card, then repeats the draw for each elemental you played last turn.
The second issue is single target removal. Perhaps an elemental that can turn a sticky minion into a frog. This would work great in a meta with Zilliax, Primus and Amitus.
Draw isn’t an issue. People are already running Fairy Tale Forest and Ancestral Knowledge but also Magatha (same playrate as Ancestral Knowledge). Every deck runes Shale Spider and Trusty Companion. Most lists have between 12-13 extra draws.
Single target removal is also not an issue. Minecart Cruiser and Living Prairie both deal with minions efficiently, Scarr as well.
E-Shaman is actually in a pretty good spot right now. It doesn’t need any buffs.
Minecart cruiser and Living Prarie are ineffective against Primus, Amitus and Unkilliax.
If you wanna improve Elemental Shaman, replace elementals with pirates.
By the time they are playing any of those three cards you are ending the game through burn damage.
The deck is already good and competitive. That’s the ideal place for any deck so it really doesn’t need anything at this point.
Also, we have 3 classes with elemental decks all playing very similarly, and they’re all pretty boring imo so I’d say we let it have its time and move on from it.
I played the Elemental Shaman quite a bit.
Draw is not really an issue with this deck. Yes, you can have a game where you need Skarr or Kalimos and they just won’t appear in your hand.
But you can’t really run any other spells in this deck (Trusty Companion) because of Magatha. And Magatha saved me many times. Being able to draw 5 cards is very strong.
Besides the strong point of this deck is the ability to generate new Elementals through other cards. If you play smartly then your hand never runs out before you can finish the opponent.
I haven’t tried the new decks yet which have Shudderblock removed and run Incindius.
Overall the Elemental Shaman is decent and quite strong right now.
I ran my elemental package with shudder/hagatha/the 7 mana arcane spells as a backup win condition back when reno warrior was a thing prior to this expansion. Being able to make everything a 7/10 was fun and you could make al’akir into an otk eventually which was really the only way as a tribal to do anything against re(no)movalwarrior.
I haven’t removed it after the expansion but its probably not the most optimal package… but its fun and shudder also can be used on incindius.
It doesn’t need a single buff. It’s already a top 10 deck. What are you trying to accomplish by buffing it? You want it to be THE best deck? It’s fine where it is.
Top 4 deck in lower ranks
Top 8 deck in Diamond and Legend
Top 6 deck in Legend
Top 7 deck at the highest levels of play.
Needs exactly 0 buffs.
Like what was mentioned earlier…if you want it to be better, just play the Pirate deck. Same idea but it’s way faster and way better.
