Out Of Cards put together a good breakdown of the new ladder system being implemented tomorrow. For those of you who are still curious about it, give it a read.
Hmm so instead of guaranteed Gold Card you get normal cards you probably have 2 copies of already so less dust if you were dusting the gold cards before for function over form. Old system rank 5 was 1 common 1 epic 1 rare or something like that for 450 dust. New System is 7 Rare 1 Epic for 240 dust and 4 packs for 160 dust.
Don’t know what packs you are getting. My packs are 4 commons 1 rare or if I am lucky 1 epic in 5 packs. So given that average my packs would be 56 dust a pack no where near 100.
The new system is a bit less dust for folks who have a complete collection, but it’s much more lucrative for players who are still building their collection of the most recent expansion, who I’d argue could use the resources more.
If you break the current ranks into blocks of 5 you have
25-21 = bronze
20-16 = silver
15-11 = gold
10-6 = platinum
5-1 = diamond
Legend is unchanged
So if you finish the season at say level 10 then you’ll get enough bonus stars at the start of next season to get you up to platinum-10 if I understand it correctly which would translate to 6 bonus stars initially. It’s a little more confusing if they don’t count ranks 25-21 in there but that’d be how it breaks down I believe
I do guess that new Ladder is slightly better. It seems like less grinding if all you care about is just getting to Diamond 5 for rewards. Heck this systems it seems like its easier to get to Legend without as much a Grind like going from Rank 5 to Legend was as long as you made Legend last month as the way it sounds is you have bonus stars still at Diamond 5 if you were Legend but on the flipside Match Making would put you up against other Legend Players starting from Bronze 10 all the way up through the Grind.
Also important to remember that 5 packs under the new system (all trip protection) is a lot better value than you might initially think. Plus you still get several rares and an epic on top of it if you max your league. They just aren’t golden.
Not by as much as you’d think. You’re protected from getting third copies of cards only until you have duplicates of all cards of that rarity so it’s not like if you have doubles of all commons and rares of a set the next pack you open will only be epic and legendary cards
I am aware of that but that is to be expected. They ain’t gonna remove commons and rares and only give you epic and legend filled packs. XD Overall for collectors the new system is still superior. And much better for f2p only players set completion % wise as well.
