What’s the most prestigious/rarest skin ? Khadgar ?
The only hero skin worth anything is Arthas. Every other skin is basically about being on the right place at the right time.

Liadrin requires you to work for your character, but it’s more of a grind than a skill. Arthas requires some skill, but is a lot more RNG driven with the Lich King’s busted swings and netdecks that do 50% of the work for you.
Morgl takes a couple hours to finish if you start at the beginning, but requires no work beyond grinding and starting a new account.

When I see my opponent with an Arthas portrait… “Ah, here comes a new challenger”.
Arthas is worth nothing in my eyes… That’s PvE content I mean really ? It’s not even difficult, it just requires you to have a good collection.

And having any other hero isn’t difficult either, it just requires you to have some disposable income and be playing the game at the right time. At least with Arthas you have to successfully pilot nine decks. It’s not a marathon, but it’s a lot more meaningful than “I happened to have $80 to spare.”

What about 1000 win portrait?
Khadgar is the rarest one right now. The pre order skins, annoyotron and thunder king are also rares because there is no way for new players to get them. Magni, alleria and medivh were removed from the shop, it can make them rare in the future. Maiev and lunara are also rare for the new player, since they can’t get those 2 anymore because they were for a limited time event. For last we have the tree and sylvanas, 2 new heroes that will be in the shop for a limited time period.
But no!!! Killing the computer is much harder, isn’t it ?

I agree. I am not against old heroes coming back, but i don’t like when Blizzard bring back old card backs that much. The old ranked card backs can show how old school a player is and if he/she was playing in x ranked season. But that is only my opinion and the cosmetics don’t change the gameplay at all, so it doesn’t matter that much.
You’re dreaming if you think any of the portraits are “valuable” or “prestigious”.

I really don’t ‘get’ the whole dumping on Tyrande now that she’s free. I had went through the promotion at the time she was first offered and through SOME kind of mix-up or another (still not 100% sold on what it was) I was NOT rewarded her. I even had to deal with the aggravation of going through the refund process because I still got charged even though I specifically made sure I was on the option to NOT have auto-charge past the promotion period.
Maybe because I am Canadian? I don’t know but I’m happy to FINALLY have her and it doesn’t bother me in the slightest everyone else can get her now, too.
That being said, to move onto the question for ‘rarest’ skin (but certainly NOT prestigious), I would say that if you don’t know anyone willing to help you out, Morgl. I never see anyone use it, even immediately after it became available. I know you can get it solo via smurf account but I truly hate the idea of making ANOTHER account strictly to abandon it and I would imagine many other people feel that way.
To be honest, I forgot about those. That should tell you something about these heroes (or about me, I guess).
Been playing since closed Beta (no ‘breaks’ from the game) and I didn’t even know card backs were specifically from rank 20 in ranked mode for a good number of months so I’m missing out on a good chunk of them. I was SO busy getting smashed by people with paid collections meta-gaming/min-max’ing in the lowest rankings that when I did get a card back, it was rather quite forgettable.
But hey, I was having fun messing around trying to make free-to-play Control Priest work and being silly so I guess even now it’s not that big a deal. I do kinda wish I had the missing ones (like the joke-y rainbow card back) but don’t think that card backs in and of themselves are the only evidence of how long a player has been around for.
Lol yeah nothing beats raising your self esteem by having rare skins… if you are serious bee, you should probably go out more!
Why do you have to be so condescending and toxic?
To a collector limited edition/availability items have value and prestige, regardless of whether the item in question is physical or digital.
People have every right to be disappointed that Blizzard have, once again, given away a previously limited availability skin for free.
It wasn’t okay when they did it with the Police D.Va and Oni Genji skins in Overwatch, and it’s not okay for them to do it with the Tyrande hero here.
They may as well not bother doing any more special promotions or limited time offers and just give everyone the heroes/card backs/whatever.
