What is with so many people wanting to rope every turn at the start of the game? I don’t think it is to troll but way too many people are using the whole turn timer from the start of the game. I really don’t understand why people need to use an entire timer during turns 1 to 4. Is it really that hard to think out your first 4 turns? Or do you just have that much time on your hands? My restroom breaks at work are only 15 minutes but these basement Hearthstone sweats are killing me with the slow play.
This says more about your MMR than anything else.
Pretty sure most of us don’t have this experience and I know I don’t.
I can’t recall the last time I played someone who roped, but I’m sure it was when bots were rampant and I was playing a meme deck in trash rank wild.
LOL my MMR is fine. I am playing at low legend. Its not a bot its literally people taking an entire turn to either make decisions or something else. You just assume anyone who complains about this game are playing at a low MMR. You sound bitter every time you respond to a post. Go outside and smell the flowers or take a walk LOL.
Sure you are.
I didn’t say you were facing bots, I said I’ve never seen lots of people intentionally rope so long as I wasn’t playing at MMR so low as to play bots.
This is an insult or something? As if I play all the time?
As if it’s my fault you lack intelligence?
You bought too many Runestones and the rigger now only gives you rope bots.
Was added by a random guy yesterday and got insulted for roping. Told him I made coffee at the same time. Sorry but its a part of the game not breaking any rules.
It used to be a huge problem. I don’t experience it that often anymore. I think its people that start a game and then go and do other stuff or alt + tab to something else.
I find it extremely rude and just bad sportsmanship. But there isn’t much you can do about it. I have suggested previously to have the option for timed games, like timed chess.
True. But that’s the same as driving slowly in the fast lane. It’s not breaking any rules but its still selfish and rude.
you are right, it’s all the time.
I have to admit, I did this when pirate warrior was a thing. Sometimes I still do if some decks are broken and ppl just spamming them. At least they have to think also, not just breeze to legend.
I feel good about it also, so no need for trying to tell how a bad person I am.
anyone playing libram, shadow priest or zerg gets roped, and any other face or Tier S deck
You’re in here crying a river about how long your games are, but everyone else has issues?
I’m laughing pretty hard at you right now.
I hope you get high enough rank that your opponents learn how to play their cards.
Old School MTG Online did this. I remember some turns going for over 10 minutes and it didn’t feel that bad because MTG has way more complicated turns where you have to think about instants and how the opponent blocks. Hearthstone has none of that extra stuff to think about. No instant and your opponent doesn’t choose how the trade happen. There is a lot less to think about in Hearthstone. The only thing a chess clock would get you in Hearthstone is more APM OTK style decks because you wouldn’t be limited to 75 seconds to get all the actions done. Then there’s also the obnoxiously long animation times that would eat time off your chess clock.
I love roping, it’s the best way to steal other people’s time and somehow damage Blizzard, I’m always looking for ways to make Blizzard pay for its practice of complicity with those who sell deck arena barcodes and its algorithms that favor those who pay, roping is a wonderful practice, obviously in the meantime I’m busy with other things
Just came here to post something similar. I have noticed that the people running the most brainless simple easy to pilot aggro decks are the ones needing the most amount of time to make decisions
Are you looking up online what you need to do next my guy? Do you need to consult someone on the internet? Do some research maybe?
It’s turn one, you’re a demon hunter, you don’t have any cards to play for one mana, whatever will you do? Maybe strategy games that are simple enough for children to learn are not your thing, my dude
They need to stop dumbing this game down to appeal to the lowest common denominator bottom feeder garbage can trash bag players in the hopes of getting one more customer
Oh yeah, you will definitely damage Blizzard, by upping the players count.
Or they’re just new players who got a basic deck and they’re still learning and they awe you nothing to play like they are Veterans since they are not Veterans yet.
PS The best players in tournaments, take the most time even on round 1 because they want to think of the future and not necessarily just the current round.
Comes down to disgusting entitled people just trying to inconvenience others.
Then you got apologists for this behavior and people acting like you are the problem here.
Thankfully society is changing and this type of rubbish is not to be tolerated. We entering a new era.
I can answer this from personal experience xD
I sometimes do the roping turn 1. How come? Well, here is why that happens:
a) I’m incredibly fast playing and impatient as a person, which is exactly why I play fast decks,
b) Being so fast, slow players appear to be EVEN SLOWER to me than to an average player, hence
c) I do other things to kill the time, and sometimes that means I’m late to the beginning of the game (because that’s where usually the most waiting is done, as searching for a game + mulligan + turn 1 takes much longer than 75 seconds on average).
There you go. I’m not doing it on purpose, but I bet karma is careful enough and mostly lets the ropers suffer my roping (it’s not just “karma”, it’s the probability theory making it much more probable that the ropers are getting roped, because I’ll have to be forced to do other things not just during the mulligan phase, but throughout the whole game)
Even though I’m impatient as hell, I never posted something like this. Why? Because I adapt to things and let them go.
Which makes me say the following: keep complaining about yourself, ropers.
It’s you who are responsible for getting roped, because you’re the ones doing the roping.
I’m not above roping in certain situations but you kind of have to do something to deserve it
As I said, I’m not doing it on purpose
I remember only once doing it on purpose, and the context was the following:
- played on NA, top 200, so these things rarely happen there
- a guy was about to win a game, but decided to BM me and spam emotes, probably cuz he was tilted from losing thus far, or because I proved to be tougher than he expected
- So naturally, when I met the guy next time and was about to win, I wanted to return the favor, but I didn’t have any extra mana or cards to play to BM, so I decided to just rope him and spam emotes, until he finally conceded
- then he added me to wish cancer to my whole family, cuz why not? It’s not like he started this, right?
