Sleeping Resident doesn’t work?
A vague post like this doesn’t help very much.
What didn’t work exactly? Do you have a replay?

if i had to guess, something with a auto attack went off
My bad, not sure about how it works.
Its deathrattle should put on sleep all other minions, is it correct?
I did it a couple of time, it does really nothing. None of the minions on board were put on sleep.

The way this minion works is that once the Deathrattle is triggered all other minions enter the same state as if they were just put onto the field by a player. Also referred to as “Summoning Sickness”.
Meaning they can’t attack this round and must wait until the next round starts.
Now what exactly happend that gives you the impression that this minion didn’t work?
Was the Deathrattle triggered and all the minions of the opponent attacked you anyway?
Sleep is not the same as Dormant, if that’s what you expected.
I must not understand the effect this way and expected all minions to be on “dormant” as Shuteye said.
