Since when does adding your beginining hand

not mean your deck doesnt have duplicates?¿? The person i was playing used what ever card gave them their beginning hand and then used the card to return to full health. a big contradiction to the idea of no duplicates isn’t it¿?¿

Do you mean they played Reno Jackson? That card has always worked the same way: its Battlecry effect will trigger if there are no duplicate cards in the deck at the time it is played. Not “no duplicates at the start of the game”. Also, cards in hand are not in the deck, you can have 9 copies of a card in hand, one more copy in the deck, and still be able to play Reno Jackson.

Conditional effects are evaluated using specific criteria, not vague ideas open to convenient interpretation. Reno’s Battlecry only cares whether or not two or more copies of a single card ID exist in the player’s deck. As long as you do that, you can copy those cards all you want and he’ll trigger all the same. You can even start the game with duplicates in your deck, as long as you draw them before playing Reno.

Hand and Deck are different things.

Reno Jackson looks for duplicate cards in your deck.

Adding cards to your hand has no effect on your deck.
