Simple Mutanus Change

Please make it so that if I play this card and they have a quest reward it targets the quest reward. Simple change. Doesn’t affect good players, just the bad ones. Tired of losing to Quest players that don’t even try to play around the card and then get rewarded by luck not taking it. The card is already bad enough. Thank you very much.

Rng should be rng, right? If not then the implications for the game could be huge.

Not in this case. I just want it to punish bad quest players. It would only make the game more dynamic. Card needs a buff anyways. It’s more tongue and cheek really. Just tired of bad players being rewarded for vomiting their hands with a lot of these questlines.

ok but it has to destroy 15 cards on mutanus controller deck when it hits it

otherwise it wouldnt be fair

And who is you to decide who is good or bad in first place?

Seriously. Know your place. Too much entitlement.

If you don’t play around Mutanus and you run a quest deck you are not a good HS player. I don’t know how you could contest that. It’s the one thing you have to lookout for when playing any quest deck and is the first thing that crosses my mind when playing a quest deck. Always going the extra mile to attack me with the end comment.

but your suggestion screams “peeeeople are playing around mutanus by keeping miiiiinions in their hand change mutanus so they cant do it anymore!!!”

I like your earlier suggestion. Deal. :handshake:

And no. If you watched the replays they aren’t do that. They just so happen to run minions and it misses their quest by pure chance. If they knew what they were doing they would wait a turn so they could curve into the quest reward instead of completing it. You know. How actually proficient players do? This is at diamond too. So they aren’t really bad players.

in most cases, one can assume the opponent doesn’t have mutanus in the deck (like if you play against a quest mage or a quest warrior).

In other cases, if you don’t complete the quest that turn, you would lose anyways, so you don’t play around it on purpose.

In other cases, it’s a gamble: you know you have 5 minions in hand, so even if the opponent has mutanus in hand, it isn’t likely to work.

Bad players will eventually be punished, like the ones who don’t play around oh my yogg when they have a quest deck; in fact some of them even wrote on this forum how oh my yogg is broken because it counters the quest (when the coin is a get out from jail for free, but they don’t want to “waste” it).

It’s almost as if Mutanus wasn’t designed to be a guaranteed anti-Quest card…

Just play no skill Tickatus. Mill 5-20 cards and think you are actually good at the game

We need a Kezan Mystic that steal Quests instead of secrets

If they change Mutanus, they should make it a 5 mana 2/2. That will help enough in the quest line matchups.

Yes, should be, the questlines cards should not deny this very basic foundation of a card game and the player should need to draw the card like any other, if the questline can deny this essential rule then Mutanus should be able too.

It doesn’t always mean a player is bad if they don’t play quest reward. Sometimes a situation demands taking that risk. Sometimes it works better for mana efficiency and they don’t think your deck runs Mutanus

We need ANYTHING can deny questlines, everything in this kind of game should have a counter.

You make it sound like there hasn’t been archetypes not having counters before. In FITB the only counter to control was control.

FITB?

20 characters.

This is a bad idea.

How about mutanus targets the highest stats minion in your hand instead or just leave it as is.

To be sure, one can usually guess which classes can afford to carry one and which classes don’t.

I always assume a priest has one.

How does Quest Priest play around Mutanus?
