I put 12 curses of agony in an opponent’s deck with Tamsin Roam and Augmented Elekk and he just played a Skulking Geist. It removed them all despite the curse of agony being free cards played when drawn for no cost. I thought that cards that are played for free when drawn had no cost. This is so unfair that a single card that just cancel my combo. Who’s playing Skulking Geist anyway why can’t I just be matched matched against normal pirate rush deck and mage secret decks like usual. Is the matchmaking doing this on purpose? Why is the only person to ever play that card is being matched against the only deck were it can cancel all my hard work, it’s so sad and unfair…
I smoked a warlock today by discovering multiple copies of steam cleaner, lol.
He was using rustwix and I burned out all his primes.
Skulking Geist is not uncommon in Wild because it’s a tech card against Mill Jade Druid and other things.
If skulking geist didnt work like that people wouldnt run it to counter jade druid back in the day.
Also used for otk priest running inner fire.
The chance that you encounter another Skulling Geist is equel to the chance i encounter that deck youre playing.
The card itself cost 1 mana. So it’s totally fair, You just got countered, that’s it. You are putting 3 copies of that 1 cost mana card into your opponents deck. So any 1 cost spell cards regardless of which deck they are in are consumed.
It is a tech card, have very specific uses and this is one of them.
If this make you feel better almost no one use this card anymore because jade druid is considerated a weak deck today, if you play more 100 games is extremely hard to you encounter another one.
“You yummy, me hungry.”
As others said it’s a tech card and only few players use it to counter specific decks. If your 1-mana spell got destroyed and caused you to lose the game, then I would say your deck isn’t really build well.
How common is Skulking Geist? I would guess the playrate from Geist is slightly higher than platebreaker or secret tech cards and those cards are totally uncommon.
there no such thing as sideboard in heahrtstone
In Wild I have yet to ever encounter a Platebreaker from bronze to 1K legend. Not a single time. Geist I’ve seen about 10 times in the last 2 months. It’s usually ran in Shadow Priest. It also lingers in a few other decks like Shudderwock and Warlock.
According to HSReplay, Geist is in 4.6% of decks in Wild with 2 of those decks being meta decks and Platebreaker is in 2% of decks with none of the decks being meta decks.
That’s why you likely won’t see Platebreaker and you’ll certainly run into a Geist once every 20 games or so.
Eater of Secrets is about half as common as Geist. Objection! made it much less valuable.
By tech card you mean sideboard?
No. Tech card is a card you put in your deck specifically to help against another deck type. There is no such thing as a sideboard in Hearthstone.
Yeah playing tech card is treacherous unless it’s to play against neptulon wild priest…
Anyway telling someone he’s playing sideboard is just a way to tell him that his deck sucks so much that he had to put card specifically against your own deck to win because his deck or decks are just too weak on their own…
So people who play tech cards have weak decks and they need to counter other stronger decks by being sore losers and playing tech cards lol, cus they couldn’t come up with a strong deck idea on their own. This is just so pathetic and pitiful to play tech cards lol…
