This is a good point so if you don’t like them, don’t bother reading what I have to say. But where is the outrage at the cheap mechanics other decks run? Everyone (including myself) piled on warrior for brann, but there is no reason shudderblock should be a thing. It cost 6 mana and cast a battle cry 3 times. Then the mini does the same. So unskilled shaman players can just covert ‘wish upon a star’ into a monster and make their monsters unkillable. I don’t understand how one broken card can be allowed to be so cheap but other broken cards they will nerf into oblivion or raise the cost to the point it’s not worth running. Nothing about this game makes sense.
that Shudderblock combo relies on you
- Not drawing Wish Upon a Star before playing Hagatha
- Playing Hagatha to draw Wish Upon a Star,
- Playing Shudderblock, then on a FOLLOWING TURN playing the slimified Wish Upon a Star
- Then play powerful minions (assuming your opponent isn’t stupid and left a big board for multiple turns)
- Alternatively, get a big board (somehow, as HL Shaman), and then combo the mini with the slimified Wish upon a Star the following turn, praying your opponent doesn’t clear.
yeah this combo is fine
I think one copy of Gaslight Gatekeeper should be ran, along with Faerie Tale Forest, to get the Wish Upon a Star back in the deck if necessary, combined with an increased chance of redrawing Hagatha first on the second try.
But of course this can also fail.
People don’t complain about Shudderblock because it isn’t actually strong.
As if that’s ever stopped them before lol
but it’s not that popular either so there ya go
Hey, let’s take an effect like BRnR…
And make it even MORE inconsistent!
- Brought to you by the “my opening hand is both Trenchstalkers and Remornia” gang
I like Shudderblock, but I think the Hagatha / Wish combo sucks.
Sucks, as in, I’ve never pulled it off a single time ever in 20 games. So, I ditched it and went full Control Shaman non-highlander with a completely different approach taking advantage of battlecries with other minions and it’s working fairly well. Only 6 games but I crushed a pure greed insanity warlock, another insanity warlock, hero power spell damage druid, Secret Hunter, Spell Token Hunter and barely lost to a flood paladin.
I pulled off a 6x wish upon a star combo with rogue lol.
It’s ez, roll it off scorpion, defn not a high roll, then cast once then again with Sonya, then drop tess 2 times. So easy right?
but how did you get it with Rogue? just random? lol
Hey now, about 10% of the time you don’t draw either Wish in the first four turns, curve into Hagatha and Shudderblock and Wish and Miniblock+Wish without getting run over and kill people on turn 9!
Yup azerite scorpion, has to be 1 mana
