And does this apply if we want to play classic as well?
If you want to play a card in Classic, you must own the Classic card. Core cards cannot be used in Classic.
If you don’t want to play Classic, you could dust the cards, but there is no guarantee which cards will cycle in and out of the Core set each year. So you might lose access to a card at some point if you dust it and it then rotates out of the Core.
So, the safest answer is: No, don’t dust them. (Unless the only mode you will ever play is Standard.)
Ultimately, it is your choice.
Guide here for the Classic Set:
I give a rating for each of the cards so if you do want to dust anything, you can look at the 1 and 2 point cards. Also notes on whether a card is in the Core Set, getting buffed, or stronger in Classic format.
But no one can predict the future, so you can just wait to dust your cards.
The fact it took a 1 hour and 24 minute video to explain what Blizzard is planning to do with the basic, classic, core and other sets, and the ever-increasing amount of modes, show a major issue onto itself.
It’s the ever expanding game, power creep and general mess developers create that forces them to eventually release classic servers in many games, where people long for simplicity.
it only happened cuz wow classic happened and didn’t totally flop. they also rereleased diablo 2 and warcraft 3 to further cash in on nostalgia. ie retro gaming. has nothing at all to do with hearthstone itself.
From what I know, there is no additional benefit from DE.
the dust return remains the same if you where to DE it before and after the Core set revamp.
If HOF return or nerfs, then the cards are eligible for full dust refund.
I could condense it to 20 mins, but it wouldn’t explain things well per card, there’d be plenty of questions.
There will probably still be questions, no one can predict exactly how good the Classic cards will be after rotation. We can have a good idea though.
