My favourite expansion in recent Hearthstone is Sunken City because it introduced colossal minions and I hope that maybe they bring colossal minions back in the future.
What do you guys think, you like or dislike colossal minions?
I like colossals they could add more of them.
I hate colossal minions and hope they don’t do that again, but titans are pretty close. Sunken city was my least favorite meta in years, and colossal minions were a big part of that.
ehhhh. They’re ok. I think I liked prime minions more.
I don’t love colossal though so I’d rather see blizz move on to a new concept.
But if we’re talking about bringing back old ideas rather than introducing new ones, I’m fairly indifferent. I’d rather have any minion before new hero cards.
No. I hated the idea even more than I hate Titans.
Well, I like the concept, which is a card that summons a squad/unit of minions that derive synergy from each other.
So … an Elven Warband = a druid healer and two warriors, you can’t target the healer with minions until both warriors are dead. Etc.
Otherwise I’m not a big fan of super-powered cards that just win the game if the opponent doesn’t have the right answer at the right time. Neptulon and Hydralodon are close enough to that. Now we have the Titans. Enough is enough.
I don’t mind the idea of colossals, but the way they were implemented in game their main use (and arguably their only use) was to be cheated out. This is not okay. Minions should be designed to be played from hand at cost, if the entire design is to consistenly cheat them out its terrible design.
As such, my conclusion here is a hard pass. I don’t want so much power concentrated in one card that make for massive mana cheat targets.
IF blizzard pulls them from discover pools that heavily discount them and prevents other ways of cheating them out, then I am okay with it, but that is far to much work for the devs, they only take easy/cheap/lazy solutions.
Id love to see henchmen keyword, instead of a big tail,it should summon small stuff
Agree with this.
I think the concept of Colossals is fine, and in fact most of them are okay.
But largely, they’re like… 2-3 stat points over what they should be. Pretty much in every case except Sindragosa, the Druid one and… Blackwater Behemoth? Like why does Gigafin have 7 attack? Why does the main Leviathan body have so much health?
They’re already strong high impact cards, they don’t also need to be overstated.
No, they are too impactful and if they’re not, too useless.
I enjoyed the mechanic because it was unique, but i’m sick of seeing the same overpowered cards over and over.
Of course let’s play yetis only xD nothing beyond vanilla stats on curve should ever be allowed
I mean they could be a little understated because they have powerful effects. The game is balanced around stats and trading.
Gigafin clears the enemy board and then is threatening 11 damage?
Leviathan is a 7 drop with 4 drop + 3 drop stats, divine shield, rush, and it draws a card. That’s like 11 mana worth of stuff in a single 7 mana card.
And for like no reason too. Them having big huge stats has nothing to do with what they do. Leviathan is a board swing that draws a card. It’s like Blizzard feels obligated to not understat something no matter what it’s effect is. (See: Astalor)
I just personally want to see a Colossal Deathwing and Old Gods. I don’t care about some random sea monster (I do, it’s cool, but it’s not actual lore), I care about the Old Gods. I care about the Big Bads from Warcraft and WoW.
But I don’t like them winning the game on their own. Unless they are 10 mana, they shouldn’t be game-endingly powerful, in my opinion.
I want a colossal Deathwing myself.
Yugioh would like to have a word.
please no never again colossus minions or next time i leave completely the game forever .
no. absolutely not. They are neither fun to use or be used on you.
he didnt mean the same cards
new cards with the same mechanic
I understood that, but the mechanic in general is kinda hit or miss. it’s a cool idea but you either get an useless effect or way too many stats for the cost compared to another card.
Of course you do.
Wow. This really makes me realize that “Colossal” is a really bad keyword name. I think this is actually the best “no” argument in a way; I don’t want to see the mechanic returned until and unless it’s renamed to be in theme with this.
Screw it, let’s not make any cards at all then.
