Share your collection tips here

Ok. So many of us here have played a long time. A few not so long. I am asking if people can share some collection tips. Perhaps we all know them? Maybe we can learn a few things. I only know simple ones and would love more.

In your collection tab, if you sort by “new” you will see all those annoying highlighted cards, just page over and boom, they are no longer highlighted.

If you type “extra” it will show all the cards you can freely dust that are extra.

Of course, “legendary” and any type like that shows just those types of cards.

As I said, I only know the basic ones. I am sure there are lots of cool others. Share em!

10/10 sharing is caring

You can type “refund” to see the cards that give full dust refund based on their rarity.
Those being cards that have been nerfed in the very near past.

I can only suggest to not craft cards emotionally

You need to determine which decks fit your playstyle and then pick the strongest of them, and then craft the cards to make them, and then use that deck to earn gold and new cards faster than with any other

It’s difficult to begin. You only have 1-2 chances. But then your collection grows exponentially. Why?

Most of the strong cards from each class go to every deck from that class, so once you craft a strong deck, you probably have most of the cards for another deck from that same class, so it gets easier and easier to craft new decks.

After returning from a 3-year break, with nothing from standard, I now (after 6-7 months) have every deck I want on the ladder and 5-6k gold ready to buy packs from the new expansion.

This game is really easy to f2p.

It definitely takes a while (months) but smart crafting is definitely the way to go.

Also never use the mass disenchant button if you want to get maximum dust from nerfs (type “refund”)

I admit I’m guilty of this, lol, but I still don’t have issues on my main

Sticking to it would just end up with you having infinite dust so you’d get to the point where getting new cards/decks doesn’t matter to you at all, lol

Yeah, you’d be left with one problem to deal with less, but also one joy to look forward to less

Even better is “missing”

Will show normals you have 0 or 1 of, or legendaries you have 0 of.

No, I don’t have a source.

If you do a search for “Hearthstone Collection Manager” it will list out the wiki for that function. It has everything you can do within the search function, including what Mand is talking about.

you can have two active nozdormu day quests, i like to save 1 or 2 for new expansions

i also like to save standard packs for new expansions, i have 20 saved right now

That’s a great one too.

Stop using the mass disenchant button
Like, never use it.
And don’t disenchant all your extras as soon as you get them.
If you need dust, disenchant your cards carefully with the “extra” search as mentionned, but keep as many duplicates as possible.
The day nerfs strike, you then have a higher chance to benefit from it.
If you have 8 copies of a common that just got nerfed, you can dust all 8 of them for the full price, so you get 400 dust instead of the 110 you’d have had by mass disenchanting the 6 extra copies before the nerf + the refund of the 2 remaining ones

There’s just one problem with never using mass dusting - dust gained now is worth more than same amount of dust gained in the future, which is important if you’re lacking dust for one strong deck now

With that deck, you can get higher ladder rewards so you get more dust every season, and every strong card is a good investment because it’s probably gonna be a part of multiple decks, not just that one

So, idk, I’m too poor to be saving mass dust on NA and Asia, but to earch their own

I’m not saying “never disenchant cards”
Just stop disenchanting them while you have no use for the dust
If you need dust, disenchant your cards carefully but keep as many duplicates as possible.

My tip: Don’t be afraid to dust a nerfed legendary card you don’t think you will play - especially when it’s been in standard for months.

I don’t play control warrior and no issues nuking their cards when they’re full refund. Take the money and run.

You sometimes need to select wild to see all of them when there are nerfs to wild cards.

This is really good advice and leads to lots of extra dust.

The dust for DE is so low as to not be worth the time, but holding them nets you a tidy pile.

Can you share where you type “refund”? is it in the collection search menu?

yes.

Where you would type a card name or a keyword.

And I am sure people know this, but you can use a keyword to show all cards that have the key word on their text… battlecry, deathrattle, taunt, etc.

That’s the easiest way to complete quests that require a certain type of minion.

Thank you. Appreciate it

The “refund” search term is one of the more useful ones, but it’s only going reveal cards in your collection that you own, which have been recently nerfed and still qualify for a refund.

type night elf and found the amalgams
