Noticed that there’s a bug with how this achievement interacts with your collection if you already have two golden “School teacher” in your collection(1). Instead of letting you re-roll them and keep the uncraftable version of them in your collection, the ones you had that were craftable become uncraftable and you don’t get to re-roll for another golden epic, or your dust back. This means that you either lost 800 dust that could be from scraping them or 3200 dust if you crafted them instead of unpacking them, either way it sucks and doesn’t make sense.
(1) The achievement is to “teach nagalings 16 different spells” which is basically play the card 16 times with unique spells.
Thank you.
There is a (minor) bug indeed, but it is not what you think it is.
Golden School Teacher was originally given as a progression reward on the Rewards Track during the Voyage to the Sunken City expansion. When March of the Lich King released, that Rewards Track was replaced with a new one.
As always when a Rewards Track ends, golden cards that were awarded through that track are still available, now via an achievement. So the “Shale university” achievement was introduced when March of the Lich King was released.
The only bug in this process is that, when someone completes the achievement, they always see a congratulations message that tells them that they completed the achievement and received two golden copies of the card, but those golden copies are in reality only ever awarded when the player did not already have them. You already had the golden copies from the reward track, so completing the achievement did not award you extra copies (that would be useless anyway, since they cannot be dusted).
The bug is that the game told you you got a reward that you did not get and should not get, because you already had it.
